I can't recall any names but there have been some patients with <35 BMI get surgery. Have you called your insurer to see what their guidelines are?

Just curious if under 35 why would you not use a nonsurgical method?

My insurance required a min of 35 BMI w/ comorbidalities. How much weight would you have to gain to get up to 35. Sounds crazy I know. During the required three month pre-op diet, I was 'advised' not to lose any weight to make sure insurance didn't deny. As soon as it was approved I started losing again. Lol. If you want them to pay you have to play their games.

Yes the surgery is approved for less than 35 BMI but I don't know of any insurances that will pay for less than 35.

By the way - my insurance is Cigna.

Oh another 'trick' that some people have done here and my surgeons office has told me about others-- they will let you weigh in with whatever you have in your pockets / on you. Some have mentioned a purse with weights. Others have put rocks in their pockets or wore ankle weights.
