May 2007 Banders

I have a new goal to set. I finally talked my DH into going on a cruise (Mexico). I've been working on him for over 10 years to go. He is very active (biking etc...) and always figured there wouldn't be enough to do on a boat, no mater how much anyone tried to convince him otherwise. We're going with 10 couples from our church for 8 days, so there will be plenty to do! I'm just not sure where to set my weight goal for January 11th. I want to motivate myself, but not set myself up to fail, and there is the holidays between now & then...yikes! I'm also trying to figure out what to buy in clothes. Now's a great time to buy summer clothes on clearance, but what SIZE???

Cindy...

I went shopping yesterday too. I needed some jeans (I wear them to work everyday and I only have 1 pair that still fit). I ended up buying the same brand/style that I've been buying, only I bought the 18's rather than the 22's. It was buy 1 get 1 1/2 off, so I bought a 16 for the future, I can get them on & zipped, but it isn't pretty...yet...someday (soon)!

Congrats on your upcoming cruise...I just took one in early august, it was sooo fun! I wish I had lost a little more weight prior to cruising, but I still had a blast and still wore a swimsuit....and I lived to tell my experience...LOL

Wenjea - These posts sure are encouraging arn't they! I know there will come a day that I have ice-cream again...but, like you..I will get right back on track. And anyway...you didn't eat a cone, a chocolate covered bannana and a joho! So you probably didn't eat as many calories as it might seem.

Melissa - you have got me hooked on your FF refried Beans. I bought two cans last week and some of that FF sour cream..although, I noticed the regular was close in calories to the FF. I may try the FF kind next week. They were delicious. I ate the whole can for dinner. How do you warm yours up? I put mine in a frying pan and it made a mess...maybe I'll nuc it next time.

I heat mine (FF Beans) up on the stove in a pot and add a small amount of Water, cook it on low and stir constantly...makes them so smooth and yummy...

OK, I need someone to give me a very good swift kick in the pants. Ever since I have come back from vactions I have been eating like a pig. Head hunger is giving me a run for my money. I was so busy on vacation that it did not seem to bother me much. But, now that I am back at my desk, or at home watching TV I am just grazing all of the time. And it is so hot here that I am having a very hard time getting out and walking. I am trying to think about before I had the band, how bad I wanted it, and how I promised myself I would do all I could to make this tool work for me. I just love this place, I feel safe to open up and share what I am feeling. Thanks Guys. LAURA

Laura,

You are doing great..you are almost halfway to your goal! That is amazing. You inspire the heck out of me! I am only about a third of the way there. How many fills have you had?

melissa - way to do the eppy machine! You go girl!

Mischevious1 - you look great...your face is not fat! Thanks for the recipe for the refrieds...I will try that..if it smooths them out it will help...even the skins on the Beans give me a bit of a problem.

Blessings you amayzing bandsters!

Weazer

I am so proud of all of us as I read these posts!!! I remember when it was nothing but bansdster HELL and now its nothing but NSV"S!!!!

I love my new elliptical......doing about 12 minutes at a time and I really start to sweat immediately!!!

My latest NSV is I have a pair of board shorts (nice way of saying fat lady shorts) that I wear over my bathing suit. They velcro instead of zipping and last year they used to rip apart when I sat down.......this weekend I could get them on without undoing the velcro.....they went straight on. I know it does not sound that exciting but when I thought of how tight they used to be I just sat down and had a moment!!

Does anyone ever do that? Every once in a while I think....Oh my god this is really happening, I might actually be thin after all! After so many failed attempts and yo yo diets.....this could actually work!!!!

Hi All, Congratulations to everyone on the NSV. upcoming cruises WOW. We are all doing great. It's all very encouraging. I had another fill today I'm up to 1.6 cc in a 4cc band. I'm hoping for some restriction and weight loss. Good Luck to everyone.

It does feel different this time, and yes I'm pinching myself too (and there's less to pinch!!!) Wendy I were just discussing today how a few months back we couldn't even begin to believe that we would ever be under 200 again. I had totally given up, all I could hope for was to not gain any more, but I did. I kept telling myself, you're still active, it doesn't matter that much, but it was all just to help me cope with the reality that I wasn't getting better, only bigger and how hopeless that felt. Now I feel like I'm going to look back in 1...5...20 years and say "Wow, what a great decision, I took my LIFE back!" My only regret...the years that were less than they could have been.

God Bless You All!

Sue

I feel the same way. I wake up every morning feeling like it is Christmas morning. I am sure as the weight loss slows this feeling will lessen or go away but for now I am loving every moment!

I did an entire HOUR of ab work yesterday. I think my trainer is trying to kill me. I got on the treadmill and the stair climber (only for 2 min). I think the stair climber could suck me up and spit me out. That thing is evil. There were a few ab excercises where you lay on your back on a bench and lift a huge ball with your feet that I was humiliated because I couldnt do more than 5 of them. My trainer was really nice about it but I just had to flat out tell him I cant do this and I hate that. It made me come back to the reality that I am still a fat out of shape girl with lots of work to do.

Thanks Weazer for you kind words. I have had 2 fills, I have 2.5 cc in a 4 cc band. I think I might need a little fill but then again I might not. I do sometimes get things stuck, but that is usually when I eat too fast or do not chew enough. I am able to eat the healthy Proteins, so I am thinking I should just try to stick better to the plan. My problem is head hunger and stress eating. And, I need to be better about exercising. So it is all me and not my band. Thanks again.

Well, I had my first "PB" yesterday -- or to put it more accurately, I spewed :)

I knew I was tight, but thought things had relaxed. Turns out margaritas and calamari are a bad combo with a tight band....

No big deal, just headed to the bathroom and bleeeaaaaargh and done.

Doc says the band will loosen soon, but it's been hard to eat since last Thursday, and I'm actually UP 2 lbs :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
