Melissa S 1 Posted May 29, 2007 melissa - I totally hit a plateau and haven't moved at all in the last four days. What is up with that? I didn't get all my Water in yesterday and I haven't been walking like I was so I am going to work harder on that and see if things get moving again. Isn't it frustrating??!?! I guess I just didn't expect to plateau this early. I can say that my clothing fits better than just a couple days ago... so I suppose I'm still losing somewhere... its just not showing on the scale! jsrico 1 Posted May 29, 2007 I am very afraid of the whole "Plateau thing" that is usually where I fail in ALL my diets. After a long plateau I just give up....well I know with this I cant give up but it still scares me. Had another cheeseburger dream/ nightmare! I go through the Mcdonalds drive through and order a kids cheeseburger....all I want is one bite and then I will through the rest away....just want to get rid of the craving....well I take one bite and I turn into some kind of savage and eat the whole thing like in 30 seconds like a wild animal....my stomach starts to hurt and I wake up. LOL!! It is pretty funny to think that I have dreams of a cheeseburger! I wonder what all that mean??? I am scared of loosing control. All in all I am 7 days post op....I am back at work, still a little sore around the port like the rest of you. I am going to my support group tonight. I am not sure what to eat. I need variety! Hi Melissa - I was banded on 5/10 and twice now I have hit a plateau.. I don't know if I should really call it that now. From what I've been told (probably you too) that this is the time for healing, not losing. But it's very frustrating... This weekend I actually gained 2 lbs :phanvan I was very upset over that. But my hunger has really kicked in too... I'm trying to drink more water... I hope that helps. Good luck to you and everyone else!
Tagger 0 Posted May 29, 2007 Hi Everyone, I was banded on May 24th in Mexico and everything went great. But almost immediately I started having the shoulder pain from the gas. Every day it seems to get worse. Yesterday I went to my PCP and he gave me codeine but it does not even touch the pain. I'm supposed to go back to work tomorrow but I just don't think I can. Please, if anyone can tell me how to get rid of it, please let me know. I'm in tears here. Thanks. Kim
METALBAND 0 Posted May 29, 2007 I am sorry for you are having pain. I was lucky to not get too much of the shoulder pain but I have had it in the past and I know it is horrible. I have read on here that if you get on all fours and put you butt up in the air, it shift the gas...I know it sounds crazy but that is what others have said. Also Gas X and a warm heating pad. Good Luck.....I hope it passes!
anjul19 0 Posted May 29, 2007 Good Afternoon everyone! I am so in sync with many of you...I am HUNGRY--or at least that is what I think the growling & rumbling is telling me. I keep drinking & drinking but it's still there! :nervous Let's all keep trying...we know what we're working towards! Anyone noticed that they have a heightened sense of smell? I am so keen to smells for some reason! Kitty litter, food, grass, you name it! I even asked my DH if he brushed his teeth--didn't go over too well after all the good TLC he's been giving me! Wonder why? Am I alone on that? On the BM subject--mine are very yellow as well, GROSS! Protein--where do you get this good Unjury Protein? I need something new. virginiann 0 Posted May 29, 2007 I have no idea how any of us can eat too much. You should go to fitday.com and input everything you have eaten and I bet it will be a lot less than what you think. I ended up with 558 calories yesterday and a couple of times I actually ate one bite too many, because I was instantly uncomfortable. I normally post on the Arizona Bansters Board but thought I should chat with you all also. I was banded on May 21st I am 8 days post-op and it will be my first day back to work. I get tired way to easily and my otherwise considerate husband isn't getting it that I'm not bouncing back as easily as I did last year when my gallbladder was removed. Mostly what I want to do is sit on the couch and veg. Get up every hour and do something. It could be the dishes, make the bed, a load of laundry, walk around outside. But that is all I have in me. I am finally getting in all my Protein and Water these past couple of days. but quite frankly I just wanna go to bed and be left alone.
Melissa S 1 Posted May 29, 2007 I live by fitday.com... it really is a big help with keeping track of calories and protein... as well as exercise. Speaking of exercise.. I did 30 min on my stationary bike this morning... it really was SO much easier minus 23 pounds. And as for the Protein powder... go to Welcome to the Unjury Homepage .... they have all the flavors there as well as recipes. and you guys are not alone.. I'M HUNGRY!! I'm drinking water...but ya know what... I'm no less hungry... just less thirsty!! HAHA!!
virginiann 0 Posted May 29, 2007 Julie, I have been using Lean Body. You can find it at most health food stores like Hi-Health. It contains 40 grams of Protein. Also, I made a batch of chocolate pudding using the Protein Drink instead of the skim milk. It makes for a good treat and you get your protein in. At this point I am sick to death of Protein Drinks. After this is said and done if I do not ever drink another chocolate shake again it will be too soon!:sick

kaylali 0 Posted May 29, 2007 Hey Kim, I was in TJ and was banded on the 24th. By dr. Valencia. where was your surgery at? was it in Hospial Angeles? as far as the soulder pain, I have walked myself silly and that does the trick. it seems that when I would walk and get tired then I would push myself after that, when I was done with those walks I always felt my best rather than just the short little walks. Also hot hot showers were amazing!
