twinmommy 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Eljmom- Gas came a little last night, I was able to pass quite a bit of it. Laying on my back with my knees bent in bed. I am keeping everything down. It is hard to get it all in. I had NSA carnation, made w/skim milk, and 1 scoop of body flex choc. Protein powdwer for Breakfast. Yummy little treat (actually it takes three hours to eat 12oz.). Minimal pain meds. Still sore in the stomach. Slept pretty well last night. Only woke up twice. I am suppose to have 24 oz Protein Drinks (60g. protein), and 24oz. non calorie beverage a day, 2 chewable multi-vitamins, 2 T Calcium, & pain meds. Never thought I would say this, but that is a lot of food!
LisaM 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Hi everyone  I was banded on Thursday. Doc said there was a little trouble because I had some scar tissue from having my gall bladder out years ago. I spent Thursday night at the hospital and came home on Friday. Last night I had to call back in because I got a fever of 101. They said I wasn't doing the after surgery breathing thing enough...so I'm trying really hard to do it more consistently. I've hated it, though, because breathing in deeply is a bit painful. I'd planned to go back to work on Monday. As of right now, I'm a little concerned that might not be possible, but we'll see. I'm trying to get some more walking in today and tomorrow. A little gas pain. Some pain in my belly. Pretty bloated around the port scar area. Not hungry at all. That's it for me. Congrats to everyone who got banded this week, and good luck to next week's bandsters.
ontheway 1 Posted May 19, 2007 LisaM- I was just wondering about scarring from gallbladder removal! I scar very easily outside and who knows about inside. Guess I will find out in TWO DAYS!!! Woohoo!
mannamay 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Hi mannamay, I have a horrible bruise in and around the incision in my belly button. The others are lightly bruised, and the one where my port is has no bruise at all, but wowsers, my belly button looks like I have been beaten up or something. I also have a huge bruise on my forearm from my IV site. The stuck me three times to get it and the one stick that was actually good is almost as bruised as my belly button! PS...my incisions are getting itchy too...at least we know we are healing!! Thanks NurseLaureli---It's good to know that I am not the only one wit the brusining. I didn't get cut around the belly button, my port incision is about 2 inches up from middle of belly button and 2 inches to the left (my left). You know what, on my IV, it was so cool, the burse gave me lidocain to numb my hand before she attempted the IV, didn't even feel the IV needle go in. It was awesome, and she got it on the first try. Never has a nurse do that before. Sorry to hear that your IV area is really brusied up. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we will look a little better. Good Luck! LPfromDABx 0 Posted May 19, 2007 I was banded 5/16 and feeling really crappy. The gas is the worse pain but I am going to try some of the suggestions that we sent to me from the website. I am excited that I am finally done and just concentrating on getting better. :=)
michelle lowrey 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Yesterday was the Day.. I'm so excited to finally be banded. I'm not in alot of pain either.. Just when getting up from lying down.. Ground up meds are horrible and if red Jello will disguise the taste, I'm going to make some now.

PineNut 0 Posted May 19, 2007 I was banded at NWWLS with Dr. Michaelson on the 17th. I am doing really good so far. Not too much pain, just a jostled feeling in my torso. The liquid Lortab and heating pad have been my friend! I took 3 Aleve and popped them at one time and thought, hmmm, I probably shouldn't have done that. It was a bit uncomfortable, but the nurse directed me to drink a warm beverage, or even warm Water to help the pills disolve faster. it worked! I would like to be put on the calendar too! I haven't heard from Wenjea yet, but she was banded the same day at St. Francis.
