mzjay 30 Posted March 15, 2014 I work for a federal government agency and they are very particular about documentation when it comes to approved time off....my pcp is not supportive of my decision to go to Mexico so he won't write one for me. I talked to alma and she said that they will get me on I just need to tell them what to put I it....any suggestions on what to say without putting them in my business

Ana Gram 13 Posted March 17, 2014 My doctor just said something like "Patient will be having abdominal surgery and will need to be out of work until (then I put it 1 month out from my surgery)" I was back at work within two weeks, but it was nice to have the extra time built in in case I needed it. 1 Susysleever reacted to this
monkeyfish742 4 Posted March 26, 2014 I had dr. Rodriguez email my filled out Fmla forms to the HE department where I work, he simply put no lifting greater than 10 lbs due to abdominal surgery and it was approved no questions asked. I used the federal FMLA papers on the .gov website, but I have sick time so didn't need to use disability pay. Good luck :-)
