Ndipilato 50 Posted March 15, 2014 Have PCOS and have hair growth on my chin and a little on the sides (like side burns). Does anyone else have this? Did it improve after surgery? I hope so because it is getting to be majorly excessive and I tweeze and sometimes shave it because I can't stand it but by the time I am done with my shift at work, I am getting a 5 o'clock shadow! I am hoping it improves because it is majorly embarrassing and I the thought of any man touching my face because of this is horrifying!
laurivgs 27 Posted March 16, 2014 My Endocrinoligist said it should help, but if not there are other ways like metformin medication . hopefully the surgery itself will.. 3 months put nd nothing yet. sorry.
Branmuffin 190 Posted March 16, 2014 I have the same problem and take black cohosh (natural supplement) and it really helps. I think if I didn't take it, because I take Biotin after sleeve, it would be worse.
Susysleever 265 Posted March 22, 2014 My dd takes her metformin when she feels hairy. She even shaves her arms
ElyQuint 446 Posted March 22, 2014 New Hair growth might cease but existing hair growth does not. I still pluck daily. Saving for blazer hair removal. Such is life.
Blondiee 278 Posted March 24, 2014 I had excessive chin and "side burn" hair but I don't have PCOS. Laser hair removal with the Laser Genesis was the BEST money I ever spent. It's like a 2 for 1 deal with this laser. Resurfaces the skin and removes hair. Check Groupon for good deals in your area.
1sunnuri 77 Posted March 26, 2014 I believe some with PCOS has gotten better with weightloss. I wouldnt expect it to go away completely but if it is dark hair laser removal is very successful.
redlove1446 42 Posted March 30, 2014 I have PCOS. I am pre-op but I think the surgery helps you lose weight which should help with the PCOS symptoms. If, however, the hairs are fully-matured, the only recourse is laser-type removal. I had the same issues as you. Except I felt like I had a beard. I went through Ideal Image and most all of the hair is gone. I still have 3 more visits in my package so I hope those stragglers go away. Best investment ever. I can now put my head on my boyfriends chest without making sure I have something between us. Good luck! P.s. I am also on metformin and spironolactone to prevent new hairs from forming. Susysleever 265 Posted March 30, 2014 My dd has pcos. She has a hairy nevus (mole) that my laser tech said no to. Has anyone had a h.n. Lasered off?
