Liquid Vitamins

Recommended Posts

I was given the Vitamist also. I like to use it after I finish my meals.

(a couple of sprays). I like the peppermint taste. It keeps me from

wanting to nibble a bit more. (sort of like brushing your teeth after meals!)

I am trying to decide between the VitaMist for Women or the Source of Life Liquid that Penni suggested. I like that Penni says the liquid gives her energy. I also like the mist idea though. How many times a day do you have to take it? Can you take it all at once? Can you buy it in any stores?

Opinions? THanks.

I have been taking a powder Vitamin that you add to liquid for a few months. It is called Reliv. It provides 7 grams of soy Protein too. The last time I ordered the Classic (which I don't like as well as the other stuff - the taste isn't as good). When I get back to where I order it from, I can give you the name if you are interested in it.

Heather, on the Vitamist, it says 8 sprays per day. I usually just carry it around

in my purse and spray when I think of it (2 or 3 sprays). You could do all 8 at

one time. It has a nice peppermint taste to it, not vitaminy at all.

I had to get rid of the rest of the Advant Edge Protein shakes because they had chromium in there, which gave me way too much energy (couldn't sleep and was all spun out.) I might like to try these liquid ones, but what is the source of the energy?

Oh my GOODNESS I'm SO HAPPY to hear that someone else has this problem!! I also cannot tolerate chromium. Remember when chromium piccolinate was THE diet supplement. That stuff made me INSANE. I have to be SUPER careful about any Vitamins or other supplements. Also have problems with most Protein Shakes. Can't tolerate caffeine...or ginsing...or kola nut....or most anything that is supposed to give energy. All the diet pills out there aren't just appetite suppression, they also all have some "boost" component that makes me NUTSO.

Wow, glad to hear of another like me!

Hey DeLarla, may I ask you a question? Since it seems like you are sensitive to over the counter stuff like I am, how did you handle the anesthesia in the surgery? I've never had any surgery at all and I'm a bit worried since I'm so oversensitive to medications.

So I bought and tried the Source of Life Liquid Vitamin. Today was my first dose and I have to say that I didn't really like the taste...actually I thought it was acidic and disgusting. Since I paid $25 for it, I will give it another go around tomorrow. We shall see. If it is as bad tomorrow, I think I will just stick with the Flintstone's.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
