Liquid Vitamins

Recommended Posts

It has a weird name--To your Health, but is a great one to take. It is based on food sourced Vitamins not inorganics as alot of the more common ones do. This helps explain why some Vitamins give you more ompfff then others. The food derived vitamins give your body a source that is more readily absorbed and digested verses an inorganic source-such as tar that has alot of vitamins in it but is not as readily used by the body. A good test for a solid Vitamin is to put in a glass of Water and see how much of it dissolves after 5 minutes, even with vigorous stirring. One that readily dissolves is usually a better grade of Vitamin.< /p>

IT can be ordered at www.tyh.us or at 1-866-438-7323

It is pricy at $35-40 per bottle but lasts a long time and a single dosage is only 1 Fluid oz. Below is what 1 dosage provides....

Hi everyone :nervous , I am still in the pre-op stage and I wanted to know what to possibly expect after the surgery. How long did it take to get back on your feet? I am scheduled to have the surgery on a Wednesday and my doctor told me I could be back to work the following Monday. Does this sound realistic? I decided to have the Lap Band Procedure because I believe it is less invasive than the Gastric Bypass. Is that anyone elses general understanding? Did you find it to be true? I guess I am pretty nervous because I have never had surgery (except oral). Any advice on how to deal with the diet? I was thinking about starting the diet now since I have about six weeks before I actually have the surgery? Does anyone think that would be helpful? Also, I have been reading alot of the postings about insurance and I guess I should consider myself fortunate that my health insurance covers this procedure.

Hello all,

I just wanted to let you know that I saw a hair specialist and she sadi to only get 100% of my vit. A at most, too much can increase Hair loss after surgery. Just thought I would let you all know.

Also liquid Vitamins are great but spray Vitamins are not as effective because absorption doesn't occur in the mouth. Vitamist is not a good product if you need more than 30-40% of what you take and why else would you take them?

I just wanted to avoid hair loss and checked it out. If you hear differently, let me know.

Brad

I'm surprised you haven't started Vitamins, I took vitamins b4 being banded. I use the ones Penni told us about on page 1 of this thread, but Source of Life. No nasty aftertaste.

I took Vitamist to the dietician at the hospital, and she said it was great. They also have a new bariatric formula. I was also told they have a liquid prenatal Vitamin, and I took prenatals before my surgery, however we all know prenatal Vitamins are as big as horse pills hence I had to discontinue prenatals after being banded. I think they will give you one bottle complimentary if you call them, I dont know there # but the web address is www.vitamist.com I also want to make it clear I am not a distributer, nor do I make any type of profit at all for this company, I just like their vitamin. I also have seen many hair specialists concerning my hair as I have alopecia, and I was told Hair loss after bariatric surgery can be atributed to lack of protien. I was shocked because after my surgery my hair has grown thicker.

I also sometimes go to my PCP and get B-6 B-12 shots

I guess it depends on who you speak with. I do know that The dietician also told me about a vitamin that can be purchased at costco called "Glacial Milk" I personally have never used it but could be good!

Thanks

Kristie

My husband went to the store for me this weekend and he bought me some Flinestone Vitamins. It was so funny cause my little girl wanted to try one so I gave her one and now she wants me to take her Gummy bear Vitamins instead. I guess I'll have to buy her Flinstones next time.

A MOTHER CAN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO HER SELF(NOT EVEN VITAMINS)

I was recommened Spirulina by my local naturopath. It comes in various forms - tablets , liquid and powder. The great thing about Spirulina is that it is 40% amino acids - these are the Proteins you need for building hair, nails and healing, and the sort of things it really hard to get if you are on a liquid diets. It also contains Calcium, Iron and B12 - again good if you're not eating meat or green veg.

It isn't contraindicated with any meds. The bad news - it looks terrible but tastes pretty much of nothing. I've been mixing it with juice. It turns everything sea blue but the taste is neutral. It's made from Algae!

Has anyone tried the new chewable ones? I'm gonna buy some when I see them cuz it looks like a little caramel candy. I've tried liquid and pills, but I HATE taking them so I often go days without Vitamins. Maybe if I try one in candy form I'll eat the darn thing.

I take the flintstone's too. My doctor recommended them, but I did compare them to the Gummy Bears and to the new Viactiv and the Flintstones Complete are far better with all the extra things in them.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
