And I agree with you I don't want to have tons of surgeries!

Oh my goodness I know you weren't saying this to me but I loved reading it!!! So so so true!!!! If I wasn't 100% on the sleeve (which I am) you would have me swayed. So now I'll say I'm 120% lol. And heck yes I'm saving those pennies for a Tummy Tuck. :)

I'm just for the sleeve- it is rare that a band lasts 10 years- I want my sleeve because it's a forever choice. If I'm going to have repeated surgeries down the road-- my extra money on going from band to sleeve will be spent on a tummy tick;) You can be pregnant and have a sleeve-- Everyone has their choice to learn about and know what is best for them- Do what YOU want- Just like naming your baby- if you tell people ahead of time what the name is- you get comments- like people think you need their approval- once the kids named - they don't give their opinion- right now your mom might think you are asking opinion - when it's support for your decision -

Shoot I meant to quote you in the above comment ^^^^^^^ It's late! Lol. And also the naming of the baby is the perfect comparison as to why I'm only telling a select few people close to me about my surgery. Telling people after will be totally different. I don't want or need anyone's opinion but those close to me who I care about!

You should go and listen to Dr Forse at Lifepoint-

He's great and his staff is fantastic-

I can't get approved until after July 30, and they are working with me to get everything done and scheduled so it's a go and all they need to do is file it on July 30.

He taught the procedure at Stanford - and had tons of published documents and articles in the medical journals-

Have you been to the support group? I have gone every month since September. I love Dr. Forse. I was going to go with Hung but then my PCP had me meet Dr. Forse. I got a much better "vibe" from him.

And I should add hung has done two other surgeries on me and all was good.

I will have to go see him thank you! Danni did you have any complications when you went to dr hung

He did my hernia and gall bladder surgery and he did good. I just didn't like the feeling I got at his seminar. I had his seminar 5 years dog and I feel his program has changed. More of a "business". I I did not feel the passion from him as I did before I hope this makes sense. Bit as a surgeon goes I think Hung is very qualified. I if like Forse's team much better overall. I think they help in navigating thru it all

I've worked in the medical field for almost 25 years- too many people I know work in or with dr Hung - I don't feel like I could relax enough to trust the confidentiality -

That's the beauty- go with the comfort level that you feel - cause it's not a one time appointment- you will be dealing with them for a ling time to come-

It's nice to gain support on here and find out what works for others!!

See and I had a seminar at UNMC in Omaha and it was so impersonal and like 50 obese people crowded into a room, watching a presentation, and getting a pamphlet. That's why I was blown away that Dr. Hung was actually there and answered any individual questions we had, and it was a much smaller group of people. We all have different experiences though and are making the best choices for ourselves. It would be neat to have a meet up sometime!!! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
