Thinking of a Chicago land clothing exchange in August. Who is interested and what city are you from?

I have a good amount of clothing ranging in sizes 30/32 & 26/28. I would be happy to sell or swap clothing with those in need. All my clothes are well cared for or dry cleaned.

Maybe everyone doesn't want to list what exact town you live in for privacy reasons. I was just trying to get a general idea on where would be the best place to have an exchange. You don't have to list your exact city, but a nearby town within say 10 miles would be helpful. Chicago and the suburbs are huge. I am from the South West suburbs, way west.

Plainfield, Joliet, Bolingbrook, Romeoville area.

I am currently an size 10/12, Large/XL tops, size 8/8.5 shoes, 36DD.

I got sick and got down to 99 pounds. I am better and staying steady. I have clothes available Size 4 and up. My feet are smaller too. I have shoes from size 8/8.5/9/9.5. I have given away a lot but still have some left.

Hi fellow Chicago Suburbanites! I am in the far southwest suburbs but I had my RNY done by surgeon Bipan Chand at Loyola University Medical Center inMaywood on 12/17/14. Before surgery, I found a support group at Silver Cross hospital in New Lennox, IL. I attended only one group so far but plan on going to the monthly group from now on. It is a monthly group held the third Wednesday of the month at 6pm. There were a lot of people there the time I went 75-100 people. I probably don't have much to contribute to a clothing exchange. I refrained from buying myself clothes, especially anything new, at my high weight. It was such a downer cuz nothing looked good on me. I plan on buying clothes from resale shops (I.e. Goodwill) as I lose weight as what's the point of investing in it when I won't need them for long? Right now I'm progressing my diet from full pureed to soft foods. I'm feeling a little down this morning as I'm missing not being able to eat things I used to enjoy. I know it will get better once I start the regular diet in a couple weeks and be able to have more variety instead of the same things day after day. It will all be worth it.

I'm just down the street from there. I had my surgery done Sept. 30th, 2014.

I'd love to get together.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
