utkscvol1 125 Posted March 14, 2014 I have lost almost 90 pounds and just scheduled my Tummy Tuck for the end of may. It's gonna run $6350 I thought it would be more. Nervous about it and really nervous about what to expect look wise once healed. Would love to hear others that have had it and their experiences- tips:) 3 kll724, jodie1961 and CBT reacted to this

Recycled 2,182 Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) You realize that by the mere mention of the getting a Tummy Tuck, it demands before and after pics. And keep in mind, if you want information, well then......As Hanibal Lecter would say......"quid pro quo" ! Edited March 14, 2014 by Recycled
cheryl2586 3,053 Posted March 14, 2014 I don't know about the pain but just know you will have a scar from hip to hip. They can't really do it any other way. I would also ask if he is putting in drains or leaving a drain hole because I know people who got the new version of just a drain hole and it got infected and took a long time to heal. I would rather be bothered with two drains for a week then a weeping hole that takes forever to close up and puts you at risk for infection. That would be my concern. 1 changetocome2014 reacted to this
kll724 3,055 Posted March 14, 2014 Best wishes, I have seen wonderful results on others. I have not had it done. I know that I have seen people who have had the arm thing done, You get real nasty looking scars on the underside with that. Best wishes to you!

He did tell me I would have 2 drains in for a week. He did say I would have a scar right below the panty line. Just nervous as I don't want my expectations to not be realistic. utkscvol1 125 Posted March 19, 2014 Does insurance cover it? I inquired at a clinic and she said the are cash basis, they don't bill. Mine does not. I have heard of some procedures being covered but you have to have major issues. Save up:)
Hynita 113 Posted March 24, 2014 Just prepare yourself for the intense pain that comes with a Tummy Tuck and also be sure that you will have someone with you 24/7 for the first 2 weeks. Because you won't be able to do much for yourself.
LittleGirlBlue 24 Posted March 26, 2014 Just prepare yourself for the intense pain that comes with a Tummy Tuck and also be sure that you will have someone with you 24/7 for the first 2 weeks. Because you won't be able to do much for yourself. I agree- or at a minimum have someone with you the first week. The pain was nothing I'd expected- I mean I have kids and have passed kidney stones; what could have been worse? This was and no one had REALLY prepared me for it. The muscles were pulled so tight I was hunched over for 4 weeks- I'm 8 months out and still have little feeling on my sides/upper buttocks (at the end of the incisions) and from my scar to my belly button is numb. I am so pleased with the results that if I had to, I'd do it all over again! Oh- and can i just say I really enjoyed wearing a bikini this January when we were on vacation! utkscvol1 125 Posted April 1, 2014 I have heard so many different stories on what to expect. I plan on going back to work 11 days after. I have a desk job and the surgeon seemed to think it would be fine but I also work out at least 5 times a week and he said that was gonna help me bounce back faster. My husband will be off with me the whole time I am so I will have plenty of help. I am very unsure as to what to expect from the looks. I just don't want to have unreal expectations.
