Anyone being banded in May?

Recommended Posts

jennifermccourt,

Welcome!! I am having my surgery May 18th too...we are twins!! This site is amazing, you will love it! I have found a magnitude of support and information. I am excited, nervous, anxious, doubtful and everything in between! Who is doing your LB? I am having Dr. Kirshenbaum in Colorado do mine and I am a self payer (I hate the sound of that $$). Anywhooo, welcome and I'll be looking foward to seeing you around!

My surgery is scheduled on May 23rd at NWWLS with Dr. Kevin Montgomery. I'm self pay...weeellll, technically my mom is a self pay but I have to pay for it. Haha. Thank god for moms with good credit. I agree with alot of people it feels like it's still a dream...hasn't really sunk in yet. I'm REALLY nervous about my port showing...mostly because I am so young and don't have ANY stretch marks...no joke i have like half of one and its white, so I think my skin will bounce back just fine and I sooo don't want people askign me why I look like I have a tumor on my tummy.

I will be banded on May 21st also with Dr Schneider at BIDMC!! It seems like so long to wait but it will give me time to lose a few pounds first. I am like and emotional rollercoaster. I am not having second thoughts but I go from scared to excited and everything in between!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
