ShirleyBee 0 Posted April 2, 2007 I'm scheduled for lap band surgery on April 14 with Dr. Aceves in Mexicali. I'm really getting nervous and I'm concerned about "what if I have problems after surgery"? What were your thoughts about aftercare and problems when having surgery in Mexico? juliegeraci 7 Posted April 2, 2007 Shirley, just make sure you have a follow up surgeon in your area in case there are issues. Julie
TracyinKS 7 Posted April 2, 2007 Follow up care is just as important as the actual banding! Like others have said... get set up with a local dr now, and then RELAX! Congrats on your upcoming surgery!
GayleTX 1 Posted April 2, 2007 Make sure you have arrangements with a local doctor to do your fills before you do the surgery. I know of too many people who have gotten in a complicated situation because they did not.
heyyou 0 Posted April 3, 2007 I am considering having the lapband done - but my insurance will only cover network area doctor who is located in Lubbuck Texas - does anyone have any information or insight on the the doctors in Lubbock. I was told that if I requested an out-area network doctor - it would be diened. Need some help - I have read some neg things regarding the doctor in Lubbock - but when I met him a couple of months ago - I thought he was personable. I was given a pre-op list that contain about twenty different tests on - I completed about half. I PCP thought that he was being over cautious in regards to all the testing - since she had to write out the referals. Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.
