sbailey1 25 Posted March 12, 2014 Hi everyone. I am a week and a half post op and I have yet to get the full feeling when I eat. Every now and then, I will feel a slight tightness in my chest area but then it goes away. I still feel like I can eat. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks! Blondiee 278 Posted March 13, 2014 If you're only 1.5 weeks out of surgery I'm guessing you're still on liquids. You'll feel the restriction when you move to solid foods. Also please remember that you stomach is still swollen and trying to heal from the trauma of surgery.
ziggypbang 272 Posted March 13, 2014 I'm glad you're not feeling sick. Some Protein Shakes made me nauseous post op. I think if you're drinking comfortably you'll be in great shape during puree stage, since the neither shakes nor purees filled me up. I did have an obsession for laughing cow cheeses for a while, until my tastes changed. Eventually, fish, chicken, Beans and tofu were great for filling me up. I really do a lot of stir fries and lentil stews with veggies. I love one pot meals. Lots of leftovers and no thinking involved! If you are craving salt, which was a big issue for me, maybe try some warm broth with beef flavor Better than Bouillon, and add half a scoop of unflavored Protein Powder. I used Isopure. The flavor reminded me of beef stroganoff, and I felt such relief getting away from all the sweet foods I am also grateful for pink grapefruit flavored Syntrax Nectar, which I still love. It will get better, really!

Gproll 1 Posted March 19, 2014 I have the same issue, in frequently asked .?'s they say not to worry, it will happen. We have to be patient and measure so we don't overeat. Keep up the good work.

KevinHagberg 1 Posted March 19, 2014 Remember that while on the liquids diet, the things you drink are moving through your stomach, not sticking around to begin breaking down. The fluids moving though at this time give the stomach a chance to work on healing instead of digesting.
CrazyJaney 775 Posted March 19, 2014 I'm 5 days post op and have moments of hunger but nothing like traditional hunger. I do get full. Very, very tight and it sort of scares me. Not so much with the shakes but more so with the puréed Soups (Unjury chicken). Today I puréed some broccoli cheese, thinned with Water and I was so full after 2 ounces. The colder liquids don't fill me up near as much but the hotter ones do. I'm no where near 60 g of Protein or oz of water because I have to stop to rest. I've definitely had head hunger (ugly little B%#>€,). But I'm dealing with it. I get scared I'm going to stretch my sleeve so I'm trying to listen to the tightness. I get pressure under my diaphragm that I assume is fullness? I don't know. It grumbles and makes noises too but not necessarily when I feel hungry. I always heard that the stomach was numb for a while which is why everything should be measured.
