I only eat the amounts I'm allowed, like 3 or 4 ounces, and I'm done. I haven't really felt hungry yet, but when I eat, I'm satisfied. I don't feel stuffed or anything. I do notice that if I eat too fast, I get the hiccups. I was so thirsty this morning that I took a huge gulp of Water without even thinking about it and it hurt. I'll never do that again lol

I eat like every two hours or so. My doctor gave me some sample menus so I try to follow those. They do help. If I don't follow a schedule, I don't get my Protein in. I'm having a hard time with the liquids.< /p>

Water intake is what I'm working on now, I do well with Protein. I have 2 shakes a day and I add powder to all that I eat.

Having a serious craving for pizza...wasn't even one of my go to foods, but I feel like following delivery guys around just smell it :(

I'm on soft food now. I bought pizza sauce, turkey pepperoni, and low fat cheese. I just microwave it together in a bowl. I tried it on a tortilla but that was too much for my pouch.

I'm not sure where to start or how this works, so I'll jump in... I had my gastric bypass 5 days ago. Stayed in hospital for 3 full days. No complications or drain. I'm allergic to codeine so I'm doing this with tylenol. Still on full liquids. I'm being super careful and just doing blended Soups and watery Protein Shakes. Sometimes i can take 3 or 4 TBSP- usually just 2. I'm looking forward to getting these staples out. Walking is extremely painful but the therapeutic pillow helps some. I'm a little jealous of my family when they get "real" food, but there's no way I'm cheating on this- I waited way too long to get my surgery approved. Anyway, probably the most boring intro ever. I don't really have anything exciting to report.

I find when I eat liquidy foods I can get 4 oz in, but when I eat more solid foods (refried beans) I can only get in 2 1/2 to 3 oz. After that I start hiccuping and belching and I can almost feel the food going down very slowly. I think that's my que and if it isn't, it is now. :)

Welcome April. Keep walking no matter how uncomfortable it is, it does help. Every day you'll find that you can get a little bit more in. I'm 12 days out and can do upwards of 3 to 4oz, depending on the consistency. Welcome to the losers bench.

Ok this is a little off the wall, but going thru my Rachel Ray magazine I found a fork that would be great for all of us losers... It's called a HAPIfork. It vibrates and lights up when you are eating too fast! Tracks your total meal time, time in between meals and more! And they are only $100 each, yes each!! Technology.... Hmmmmm

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
