anyone experience sharp stretching pains in the abdomen? They're not near any incision, nor are they constant. Just comes and goes...

Yes I had the same thing all along my left side. It was hard for me to stand up for more than a few minutes at a time the first week. 2 weeks now and it's still there but it's not as bad. Still can't sit up straight for long periods of time. An ice pack helps.

Good Morning,

I hope everyone is doing well. My SD was the 11th and as of this morning I am down 15lbs. I'm feeling pretty good. I live in a small community so the first week after surgery I was required to stay in town. I came home Monday the 17th and with yesterday being my first day in my actual home I found difficulty getting enough fluids in and I didn't eat enough. I ate three meals. So I am pledging to myself and anyone who reads this.

I will focus on:

1) drinking my fluids daily reaching the requested 40 and shooting for 50 by the 25th.

2) eating every 2-3 hours.

3) taking all medications as directed

4) logging all that goes in my mouth with a focus on fluids and Protein.

Again goals are to be completed by the 25th any additional accomplishments are welcomed but not required by me.

Now that it's written and public let us see if I can make it true!

Thanks All

SD. Was the 17th. All went well, actually was surprised I didn't gain any weight from all the gas and fluids. Just got home, but I will stalk this thread for all the info! :)

My one week post op was today also... I have lost 24lbs in two weeks. I know it's mostly due to being on the liquid diet for two weeks, but hey, I'll take it! Got to have refried Beans with sour cream (pureed) for lunch and a strained chicken, broccoli, and cheese Soup for dinner. It's amazing how good it taste when you've been without for two weeks! Good luck to all having surgery in the past few days and Congrats to those that lived through this past week since surgery.

I have stretching pains. The doc told me it was because they also removed my gall bladder & there is a dissolving mesh pulled tightly under the area. I don't know if that info helps you. I'm 11 days post op.

I'm at day 10 and still struggling with getting enough Water in. I will say it helps to always have a bottle with in arms reach. I have a couple in my living room, one in my purse, and one by my bed.

I am 6 days post op and I seem to get full from drinking really fast. I am soo thirsty and can't in anymore Water. OMG the dry mouth is killing me any suggestions?

I too am having a hard time with fluids... I just don't want them. I really just want to go to sleep and wake up in a month or so! Trying to stay positive! Tried sugar free Tang and it was a nice change from regular Water. I do not like flavored waters so I'm glad to have found something I can tolerate. Hot tea is a lifesaver! Instead of taking life one day at a time, I have changed it to one sip at a time! Now what to do about "itchy belly"??

OMG I am glad I am not the only one with the itchy bell, it is crazy. I want to try the hot tea if I can get this felling of being full to go away. Be Blessed on your journey:)

I'm two days out and I still have major gas and I'm constipated. I drank some laxative prescribed by my doctor a couple hours ago but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I've been up walking around every two hours or so. I'm trying to get my Fluid in but I can't tell if my pain is from drinking too much or just gas pain. It's driving me nuts. I wish it would go away.

You're not alone on that, I want to drink some Water so bad. I think I drunk way to much Water yesterday and now I don't have room for anymore.

Hey y'all! I'm one week post op today. I feel pretty good , pureed food is for the birds! I can't wait just to be able to chew.

I am one week post op tomorrow, liquid diet is ok but I want more Water than I can have before being to full.

My Fluid intake changed over night yesterday was the first time I was able to finish a 8 oz cup of water at one time.

Yes. At least I'm hoping that's the issue. I'm only 2 1/2 weeks out but I haven't lost anything in a week even though I'm only eating 400 calories a day. It's incredibly frustrating.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
