It has been ages since I posted here. Here is my update:

Had my third fill July 18th - another .5cc for a total of 5 cc. I think I am at my sweet spot, perhaps a little tight but if all goes as with the other fills, it should loosen a bit. Got weighed at my fill and I am right on target - losing 2 lbs per week. I am trying to curb my impatience ( wanting to lose 5 lbs per week), and feel good about what I have done. To be honest some days are tougher than others - I still miss big quantities of food and there are times when I cannot eat another bite, but I don't feel "full". Head hunger I know, so I am working on that.

I am very excited because I am just 12 lbs from where I got to with WW before I started gaining again. This is a huge physical and emotional milestone for me (225 lbs) and can hardly wait to cross that barrier - and it has been a barrier for me.

I am also realizing that as much support as I get at home, on here and at the clinic - this is a very personal journey. So much of it happens in my head and I am the one who has to make the decisions, expecially about what I put into my mouth, day in and day out. This is good, I am taking ownership for how I got here and for getting to where I want to go.

Hi susan,

Congrats on the milestones - yes I agree it's as much about head hunger as it is physical and each one of us has our own trials on this journey. Support systems are great but I love how you've taken ownership of your journey - WAY TO GO! Slow and easy will win your race - good luck! Each pound gone is one step closer to goal.

Have a great sunny week.

A slow and steady weight loss is much healthier for your body to accept in the long run. I was banded last Sept 7 at TLBC and am now around goal. Be patient, SusanSilver, you will get to where you want to go.

Hi SusanSilver and Angel Bear: SusanSilver I was banded Feb. 01/07 and I have been fighting the battle but Angel Bear has helped me get my head on straight. Slow and easy is the way I want to go as well and our journeys shoujld be ups and downs but I am absolutely sure that the band helps me more than if I tried it alone. Thanks agan Angel Bear for your support and by leading by example. Doddie

Congrats Susan... you're doing great! Definitely get your head into the idea that 2lbs a week IS the way to go, and is the BEST you want to do a week! Anymore than that, consider it an awesome bonus! I worked out my goals as if I were to lose 2lbs a week, and also for 1lb a week, which is what we're supposed to aim for... and I always hit 'em! Set yourself up for success! :(

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
