How much are you eating before you feel full or content?? I got my 1st fill about 2 weeks ago, so I am @ 2.5 cc but I don't notice that big of a difference. I am not just eating a few "bites" and feeling full...as a matter of fact most of the time I don't feel much at all? Is this normal because I am still at the early stages of fills? I thought I was going to eat a few bites and have to stop, but I can eat a few bites and keep going...I have been stopping myself from eating more...not my band :(

Any advice or thoughts...my next fill is not for 2 more weeks...

Yes, this is normal. It may take several fills before you notice a big difference. For me, it took 4 fills and my doctor is pretty aggressive with both frequency and volume of fills.

I'm in the same boat. I was banded Dec 16, 2013 and have had 1 fill at 4.8cc in a 10cc band. I still do not feel the full button or whatever. I do not get a hiccup, pain in the shoulder or any other indicator to stop. Just my brain telling me to eat less. I try to keep it between 4-8oz but not always successful. I'll get my second fill next week finally.

when you are at the optimal fill of your band and are eating slow enough you will get the silent signals to your brain. but even if you don't your band will let you know when you are done eating. there is just so much room in your pouch before you start getting really uncomfortable. it's just so important right now to work on eating, small bites, chew well and eat slowly. when your band becomes restrictive those 3 things will come into play with everything you put in your mouth. it becomes very depressing and discouraging when everytiime you eat you end up pbing or slimming. no fun .

Count me in too. I didn't feel any restriction till my 3rd fill and didn't find the green zone till my 6th. Before that 3rd fill I felt like I was starving all the time.

I have had 6 fills and am at 6.5 CC in my 10CC band and I'm just starting to get close to the green zone. I can still eat 4 ozs of meat, sometimes 5 and I eat a whole cup of veggies before I feel satisfied - not full. They say it's different for everyone, but until you get there you have to do most of the work yourself which is frustrating I know because you thought you were going to get help. But keep up the hard work and measure your food closely and get the Protein since that helps make you feel fuller. You'll get to your green zone eventually and your body will have already become accustomed to the smaller amounts of food. As someone posed here recently, 'Fake it Til you Make it'. Good Luck!

I just had my surgery on Monday

and still doing liquids, but after just a few sips I immediately get the sign to stop. Pain in the left shoulder and a huge gas bubble in the middle of my chest. My band was primed with 3cc so that could be the difference. It's so odd to not be hungry. Good luck

Valarie - this feeling may last for a while but be prepared that you're still just swollen from the surgery. Took me about 3-4 weeks and the hunger set in big time. I went through bandster hell for a few more weeks till I got my first fill. That lasted me for a few more weeks till that swelling went down but I'm hungry again and I'll be able to get my second fill next week.

That's what I was figuring. Luckily my doctor is pretty aggressive with fills. I asked him how long the average banister hell is and he said he does fills every 2-4 weeks to try and avoid that. He said this is the honeymoon period, where your most likely doing everything right and we need to take advantage of that for optimal weight loss. I have a 10cc band and he said most people reach the green zone between 5-6cc. Of course everyone is different, some will take more and some it takes less. I'm just hoping I can be one of the lucky ones.

Everyone is different, but I didn't feel restriction until last month (I was banded this past August) and now with my last fill, I have great restriction. It all comes with time. I'm almost seven months out and I'm just hitting the full potential of being banded!!!!

WOW! All good to know!! The first few weeks I did feel very restricted (now I know it was because I was swollen...lol) Looking forward to my next few fills...they can't come soon enough!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
