And I am the happiest gal I feel for having it done. I am drinking as much as I can but not up to 64oz yet. I feel like clicking my heels....

It'll get better I'm 7 days out. I'm still struggling with getting my Water down still. I just keep a bottle with me everywhere I go. I got really dry two days ago and it wasn't nice. It was like I had a difficulty talking. Now I can't get totally comfortable sitting. It helped to read the text about the heating pad.

Welcome to the journey!

I got mine Tuesday and I didn't expect this much pain, my weight loss center said most people don't need the pain med after they go home. I think they are nuts, I'm in a ton of pain.

Hi I'm 8 days post op from southeastern MA I've had a gas free experience and I stayed two and 1/2 days in hospital. I too used pain meds when needed 2 days after returning home and used the heating pad.....best thing eva..... My doctor DID NOT do a leak test....I have heard about them on this site and after surgery I asked him how it looked and he said he thought they were "too invasive" after a traumatic procedure....so I've been praying since I don't spring a leak....Geesh

My surgeon didn't do a leak test either. Only during surgery. He said if a leak is going to happen, it's going to happen. I'm glad I didn't have to do a swallow test to be honest.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
