Water reminder app?

Recommended Posts

I set general "reminders" on my iphone: get up and move (I have a desk job), take a Vitamin (to space them out), and drink. :)

There is an app called Hy. You basically tell it how many ounces you need to drink and how often it should remind you. Hope it helps. It's also FREE!

I have a Smartlid by Thermos that also links to my Fitbit. I started using it a few months ago.

I use Aqualert and I LOVE it. There are free and paid versions (ads versus no ads). You can set your phone to vibrate, play audio, or both. My favorite audio is of Water being poured. I can set the daily start and stop times, the frequency of the reminders, the amount of Fluid to be consumed, and if I want Aqualert to adjust Fluid intake goals based on weight and exercise intensity from Google Fit app. The app also records your fluid intake and you have the option of saving data to your Google drive/cloud. My next step is to get a smart watch so I can use it with Aqualert and Google Fit.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
