Strange tailbone question

Recommended Posts

Has anyone noticed having a sore tailbone since losing weight?I have lost almost 80 lbs after the sleeve and exercise 5x per week. I have had no falls or accidents but I feel like my tailbone is really sensitive. I realize that my butt is much smaller but it's not that small! It feels sore sitting in my car, on the couch, etc. Anyone else have this? What did you do?

When I was at my highest weight, I had a sore tailbone constantly.

I lost some weight with the sleeve, and then my tailbone felt good again.

I lost more weight, and now I'm back to being in pain. :/

I honestly have no idea...

Maybe we just have bony butts?

Yep, and many other bony prominences also hurt. I drive my family crazy having them feel my bones. My collar bones are very prominent, and so are by ribs. I can also feel my hip bones, and when I'm sitting my arms always seem to rest on them, and it hurts a little. My tailbone hurts if I sit wrong, but I can also feel my femur and hip bones in my behind when I sit. I can't just sit down in a hard chair. Sitting in wooden pews at church is painful. I am really surprised at how much closer my bones are to the surface than they were at this weight before I became super obese. I always say the fat dripped away from where it needs to be - what I have left seems to be puddled around my knees, lol!

My tailbone just started to hurt at times also. This must be what it is like to have a skinny but. LOL

OMG...thought it was just me...butt bone hurts all the time...I have a pillow at work. I have found that sitting up straighter helps to a certain degree.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
