No such thing, really. Some MDs talk abot percentage of excess weight lost... Follow your plan and you WILL lose weight. That is for sure! I am a slow loser, and at 9 months I've lost 110# (started at 423# and 6'2"). I am still losing, very slowly. I am focused on the food PLAN and the activity PLAN and let the pounds take care of themselves. You will do GREAT!!!

There is no average.. Its been 9+ months for me and ive dropped 200lbs! thats fast. SO there is truly no normal weight loss. Makes a difference if your a guy or a gal. etc etc .. How much you work out. How strict you are etc etc

Hi Butterfly, my height is also 5'4, and I weighed 284 pounds. After 3 months I had lost 50 pounds. But like they said above, everyone is different, but as long as you stick to the plan, you will lose weight. Of course there will be stalls/plateaus along the way, but that is normal.

1-3 pounds a week and your surgeon will be happy.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
