Many years ago, my mother gave me her mink coat when she moved to Florida. I got too heavy to wear it and gave it to my sister-in-law hoping that someone else could use it. That was more than ten years ago. Turns out she never wore it and I recently reached goal and asked her to give it back. I wasn't sure if it would fit...it's hard for me to really see what everyone else sees and only by trying something on, can I really gauge my size these days. I must tell you....I never thought I'd be able to wear this coat again. I'm overwhelmed....

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together....

I had a red coat I only wore once and then it got too small. I fit into it and now it is gone to a better place because it is too big for me now..love it!

Congrats!

Nah....it's not too big. My mom is short like I am so it's sized correctly. Full length minks typically end below the knee. They're also very full looking...it's just the nature of fur. A more statuesque woman can wear a fur a little better than smaller, shorter women but it didn't stop my mom from wearing it and it won't stop me. :)

Gorgeous, but I'm hoping you won't need it again for several months as it's high time we got some warm weather! Spring in the air yet in NYC?

My hubby bought me a lamb skin knee length coat with hood bordered in fox. I absolutely loved it but only got to wear it twice before winter ended. That was 10 years ago. I outgrew it but didn't have the heart to get rid of it. This year, I have actually worn it all winter. You look great. Enjoy the coat and enjoy your new life.

Nice, you look great in it. I'm wearing a coat I have had at least 16 yrs now. It's actually a little big but I don't care. It's practically like new. I totally understand how you feel. :) congratulations!

While I don't like real fur items, I have to admit it is a pretty special NSV!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
