This sleeve can really be challenging at times . But u just have to say no . I am 2 weeks an 3 days out from surgery I am doing Protein Shakes an 1 liter of Water a day . I go back to work on wed of next week and want to be under 200lbs . As of this morning I weighed 202.5 lbs . So far a total loss of 21.5 lbs so ain't ruining it now. My husband brought pizza, bread sticks, and chicken for dinner last night! The aroma drove me nuts. To be honest I did have one bite of pizza.

It's very hard! My surgery is Friday, if i was single and kid free it would be so easy by not allowing the food in my house. I'm learning to accept accountability. Today is a new day!! =)

I've had several moments like these the last 2 weeks and honestly don't know how I didn't lose control and eat it all up! But I didn't. Grilled hotdogs have never smelled like such a delicious thing until last night when I couldn't have one. I took a bath instead :)

My surgery is in the morning. Only Clear Liquids for me today.

I gave in and tried some ribs about two months ago (surgery was 8-8-13), I got horrible sick afterwards. I thought for sure I was going to vomit, it was so so close. I also gave in about a month ago and tried a grilled hotdog, I cut the skin off and thought the middle would be fine. NOPE! It felt like it was logged in my stomach and wouldn't digest. I actually felt like I had a huge rock laying in my stomach. So now even just the smell of hotdogs or ribs makes me want to gag. So far I can't do anything with red sauce, which is good in a way, no pizza, no spaghetti, nothing covered with barbeque sauce.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
