jaxhdsn 11 Posted March 8, 2014 Min not sure what's wrong with me today, I'm two weeks out doing the no carb preop diet and now starting to wonder if I'm making the right choice to get sleeved. Anyone else have these feelings ? I guess I'm just scared my whole family dynamic will change. We love going out to eat, cooking together and doing wine tastings. Any advice would be great! mamaplumlee 58 Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) I had those same EXACT feelings. I reminded myself of all the reasons I wanted the surgery and made a list to keep reminding myself. I spoke with my support person who also reminded me of all the benefits of the surgery and how long I tried to lose the weight and failed. It's hard on the pre-op because you are tired, craving food, hungry, maybe you cheat on occasion (most do) and then you are like OMG if I can't handle this for 2 week how will I EVER be able to do this after surgery? Let me tell you.. most of us had those same fear. Some of us cheated before surgery and had major guilt. Some of us didn't always listen exactly after surgery (a little to brave) and quickly learned OUCH or PUKE or poops. It is a lot easier after surgery. You got this sweetie! Be strong you are almost there. Also after surgery I hated most smells foods had. After the pre-op and post op diet I hated the way all my old bad choices tasted. I tasted all the preserves, salt, sugar, smells.. you will be surprised how much different things are. lsuchick4 54 Posted March 8, 2014 I think we all felt that way before surgery. It is totally different after, though. You got this. The pre-op was the hardest part for me. 2 Carlotta1 and jaxhdsn reacted to this
Two.Penguins 37 Posted March 8, 2014 You will still be able to eat out.... just make better choices. Some places will allow you to order from the kids menu. chicken breast and steamed broccoli at Chilis on the kids menu as an example. I would get that before the surgery. I am 4 days out. liquids only still. I can't wait to start cooking healthy. I found this link on here somewhere www.skinnytaste.com . Good luck!! 1 jaxhdsn reacted to this
RJ'S/beginning 5,358 Posted March 8, 2014 I was one of the very few people who was willing, ready and lets get this show on the road kinda gal. Most people are like you. I think that you are the norm not who I was at the time... This is an entire change for you. This is about you and the differences you are going to make for the good of yourself, friends and family. They are part of it and will share in it as well. People eat out all the time. They just choose wisely! Healthy and Protein first. If you are a quality diner you will have no problem. A taste of wine. No problem! That will be up to you. You will decide if it effects your goals or if you can handle it once in a while. 2 jaxhdsn and Carlotta1 reacted to this
