punkster 0 Posted June 17, 2009 slim - how did your fill go?
*slim* 2 Posted June 17, 2009 My fill was pretty uneventful. Dr. Ponce did it. It didn't hurt as much as normal. I can't really say that I felt much of a difference. I didn't feel the barium backing up or even feel the Water slowing down. I don't know. I guess I will give it some time. I did liquids yesterday. I wasn't really hungry after the fill, but was starving last night. I drank some hot v8 juice to satisfy my need for something savory. So do you think you are going to a little more fill taken out? I knew you had been eating a lot of fish lately, but I didn't realize it was because you were having trouble getting other Protein down. Dr. Ponce's first question is always whether or not I can eat chicken. I had to tell him that I could eat chicken, bread, pasta... He told me to make sure to take my time after this fill and to make sure I call if I can't get solids down. I told him I would be sure to do that. I have listened to the misery that you and Carrie have gone through. First sign of trouble, I am calling (ok the next business day). I may not do solids until next week just in case. My son in getting braces today, and both of our nerves are shot. He is nervous and scared, and it is making me even more nervous and scared for him. I know that stress can make the band tighter so I am going to be careful. Punkster, have you checked into starting any rock climbing classes? Are they offered anywhere around here? Carrie_C 9 Posted June 17, 2009 I hope your son does well with the braces. I just had them removed in December.
*slim* 2 Posted June 17, 2009 Thanks Carrie. Did it hurt on the first day of having the braces? We have heard that it hurts pretty badly, but then had someone else say that it didn't hurt at al.
Carrie_C 9 Posted June 17, 2009 I wouldn't say it really hurt, just very uncomfortable. But it was worse on me because I am an adult. It takes a lot more pressure to make an adult's teeth move and it hurts more because our bones aren't still soft like a teenager's bones are. So it may not be as bad on your son as it was me. I just had them on the top to close a huge gap I had between my 2 front teeth. I didn't have braces on the bottom. The first few days after they adjust them were the worst for me. *slim* 2 Posted June 17, 2009 Thanks for that info Carrie. I hope that it turns out to not be so painful for him. I actually have an appointment for myself next week with the same doctor. I am thinking about getting braces along my bottom teeth. My bite changed after using a full face CPAP mask for several years. I may not go through with it for myself, but my son has an adult tooth that there isn't enough room for it to come in. Unfortunately, he started getting his adult teeth very early, so we expected him to have to get braces.
*slim* 2 Posted June 17, 2009 Ok, so I couldn't feel a difference when drinking anything. I decided that I was too hungry. I got out a cup of yogurt. It is going down ok, but I can definately feel it. I actually feel almost full and I haven't finished the 6oz cup.
Carrie_C 9 Posted June 17, 2009 That's good. I know for me, it usually takes a few days before I can feel restriction after a fill. It seems to not take affect for a few days.
*slim* 2 Posted June 17, 2009 That is usually the case with me. I don't know if it is just swelling that I am feeling right now or what.
Carrie_C 9 Posted June 17, 2009 It probably is. On another note, this is TMI I know, especially for the guys, but my periods are all crazy now that I have lost weight. Is anyone else having problems? I have an appointment today with my GYN.
*slim* 2 Posted June 17, 2009 You are not alone in that one Carrie. I didn't get one for several months after surgery. Now they are all over the place (early, late, light, heavy). I see my GYN next month.
Carrie_C 9 Posted June 17, 2009 I am thinking maybe my birth control pill needs to be changed. I am on a very low dose one, but with the weight loss, maybe I need to be on a higher dose.
*slim* 2 Posted June 17, 2009 I came off of my pills a month before surgery. I miss the regularity (sp?). I'm going to let my doc decide what to do with me.
Carrie_C 9 Posted June 17, 2009 I just saw the doctor and she upped the dose on my pills, so I will see what happens. Why did you go off your pills?
