punkster 0 Posted May 27, 2009 i am so frustrated with my variability. i think i am too tight now. i did move my fill up because i was starving and eating a lot but now i am not able to keep down much Protein, am having night coughing, and am at a stand still on the weight loss. i wish i would stay one way or the other. in any event, i think my fill may turn into an unfill. *slim* 2 Posted May 27, 2009 I am so sorry punkster. I know that must be awful. I hope it resolves itself soon. Make sure you stay hydrated. Keep us posted on how you are.
punkster 0 Posted May 28, 2009 thanks for your thoughts. i have been much better today. i dont know if it is this crazy weather or what. i do not like it. no vomitting today so that was good. how is everyone else doing?
*slim* 2 Posted May 28, 2009 I am glad that you are doing better. I am starving. I haven't rescheduled my adjustment. It got crazy at work yesterday so I didn't have a chance. I am going to try to remember today before I get off work. Other than that, I'm ok. I haven't lost any weight, but I also haven't gained (thankfully). Carrie_C 9 Posted May 28, 2009 My last adjustment was really good. I can really feel a difference right now. But my weight loss seems to have stopped. It is SO aggravating.
Dwayne Bordelon 0 Posted May 28, 2009 I am still very frustrated. I have called twice to see if I can get in for another fill and have spoken to Tiffany both times. I figure that she is the 'stopper' to basically cut off calls like mine and I think that is BS. I really feel like that now that they have my $18k, the no longer feel the need for good service. Tiffany is so patented in her response it makes me want to reach through the phone and smack her. She actually had the gall to say the weight I have gained(10 lbs by the way) is probably muscle since I am exercising every day. If that is the case, I need to quit my job and start body building - if I can put 10 lbs of muscle on in 3 weeks, I am a freak of nature. I sent Brook and email on Tuesday to which I have received no response: Brooke - Since my fill on the 12th, I have felt no restriction. I lost 47 lbs from 2 weeks pre op to the 12th. While I was still healing, I felt plenty of restriction and felt really good about the process. I have to say today I am pretty pessimistic. I have not weighed yet this week, but as of Wednesday last week I had gained a little over 5 lbs since my fill. My question is - why should I wait so long for the next fill if by definition restriction I have none? I can eat, even though I try to avoid, huge portions. I am also hungry within 2 hours of eating. I am trying to do my best, but honestly 'my best ' got me to 422 lbs. I exercise everyday - walking, tennis, working outside - sometimes a combination of all three. I am seriously concerned and suprised about gaining weight. I have done alot research and I know that alot of people go through this, but I am here to tell you - I hate it. If my progress is going to be like this going forward, I am not sure I can live with that. It seems crazy for me to lose weight only to gain half of it back and keep going through those kind of cycles. I want to come in and get another fill - can you allow that? Dwayne Bordelon 0 Posted May 29, 2009 As a shot in the dark, I forwarded the email I sent to Brooke to Jennifer(I was guessing at her email). She replied last night at 12 am(weird) saying she escalated it and that I should hear something today. I suppose that is something positive.
Carrie_C 9 Posted May 29, 2009 How did you get their email addresses?
*slim* 2 Posted May 29, 2009 How did you get their email addresses? I got Tiffany's email address from a response from sending them a message on their website.
Dwayne Bordelon 0 Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) Edit - it turns out I was wrong. Jennifer's email is not jennifer at gastricbandinstitute dot com That is Jennifer Hilkert's email - apparently she works on the marketing side for GBI. Edited May 29, 2009 by Dwayne Bordelon goofed up Jennifer's email address
Dwayne Bordelon 0 Posted May 29, 2009 Jennifer(the nurse) called me and we talked a while about my frustration. I wanted to say that I really appreciated her call and feel like she understands my situation. I told her that I would not have been so concerned if I was just at a stand still, but gaining weight is what was driving me nuts. I told her that I had redoubled my efforts and have been doing better yesterday and today and my hope is that going on Vacation this coming week will help - my hope is to stay busy and keep my mind of the hunger. She bumped my appt up to Jun the 11th which is the week I get back from vacation. I am pretty happy with that.
Carrie_C 9 Posted May 29, 2009 That's good that she called you. I really like her a lot. I like her better than any of them. She seems like she really cares. Last time I was there for a fill, I had to wait forever on Brooke in that floro room and I was the only one there.
Mink 0 Posted June 3, 2009 Anybody at the 1 year mark. I am 10 days from it and thinking of getting one more cheap fill in before they go up. It has just been 7 weeks since my last fill but I am asuming they will want to bring me in for a 1 year check and If I drive 4 hours for that I might as well get a little fill. Anybody know what happens at the 1 year mark?
