Carrie_C 9 Posted February 8, 2009 I don't know where you live, but there are support groups at the GBI on Gunbarrel Rd. I'm not sure when they are. I don't go to them either, because I live in Cleveland and it is too far to drive. I would also love it if some were closer to me.
downsdc 0 Posted February 8, 2009 The Gastric Band Institute support meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 5:30PM. GBI is located in the Memorial Atrium on Gunbarrel (behind StarBucks).
bandsterintn 0 Posted February 8, 2009 I do not get my care from the GBI. I do live in E Brainerd so that would be easy. I get my Care from Dr. Sass at memorial. Do they have restrictions if you are not their patient?
Carrie_C 9 Posted February 8, 2009 I'm not sure. You can call them at 899-1000 and ask.
pampittman 0 Posted February 10, 2009 Anyone going for an adjustment tomorrow (Tuesday 2/10/09) at Memorial (Chattanooga). I'll be there at 11:45, for an adjustment with Sass. Pam Pittman
Carrie_C 9 Posted February 10, 2009 I am scheduled at GBI on Monday at 1:40 with Brooke.
downsdc 0 Posted February 10, 2009 My first adjustment is on Tuesday 2/24 at 1:30PM. I don't know who is doing the adjustment. It is also my one month follow-up after surgery. I finally start solid foods Saturday (Valentines Day), so my wife and I are going to The Chop House and split some Filet Medallions. I'm not feeling much restriction right now, so hopefully it won't be a problem. Craig
*slim* 2 Posted February 10, 2009 I'm sure that you will get to enjoy your Valentine's dinner. Your adjustment will probably be with both Dr. Ponce and Brooke. He was there for my first 3 adjustments since they combine the follow-up with the adjustment.
Carrie_C 9 Posted February 11, 2009 Only Brooke did my first adjustment. But it probably won't be enough for you to notice. It takes 2 or 3 before you really feel it.
pampittman 0 Posted February 11, 2009 UGGH. I had my adjustment yesturday. Very bad one. Threw up ALL night- no sleep at all. If I try to lay down- it all comes up. And there are little things that look like tea leaves in it? Is that blood? I've got a call in to my doc- but we are playing phone tag. Can't even take my meds. And I hurt! I think this is fill#4 (not counting an unfill). I've been banded a little over a year. Sorry to whine!!!
*slim* 2 Posted February 11, 2009 Are you abe to keep at least Fluid down? If not, I would go and sit at that office until they could see me. You could get dehydrated too fast. You might also try warm to hot tea or broth to help loosen you up. I am sure that all of the vomiting has irritated you even more. I hope you are able to get it resolved soon. I hope that you feel better.
pampittman 0 Posted February 11, 2009 Only tiny sips. And it comes up later. I wonder why it shows that it goes through on the 'scope- but then does this at home.. Definately stomach is irritated. Everytime I throw up, I get more sore. I just wish I could lay down. We don't have a recliner.
*slim* 2 Posted February 11, 2009 Do you have a heating pad? Maybe you can lay one against your chest close to where the band is? That might help the swelling go down some. I really hope you are able to get in touch with your doctor soon.
