Moving out of the green, into the yellow. Time for a fill.

Recommended Posts

I've noticed a few things over the last month or so: I can eat more, I'm hungry more often, I was 1 lb from goal and skyrocketed back up 6lbs because I'm making poor food choices. I've come to the conclusion that I've drifted out of the green zone and back into the yellow and I've scheduled an adjustment in about 10 days (the soonest available). I always get so much more than a little saline on those visits because being held accountable for your progress or lack there of makes you own your choices and be more mindful of how you are treating your body. I have a new resolve...I've done much better today than I have in a week or so with my eating and I feel the difference.

I understand how you feel. I do good in the morning but come the afternoon I seem to lose it. I try to make good choices but don't always. dinner works good I will be glad when I get my first fill. It should be Wednesday.

Alright girl, you have come a long way to reach your goal. No backsliding now. No ma'am we can't have that. Stick to the plan girlfriend as I happily await your post to say you're finally at and hopefully below goal. I'm glad you're getting that fill.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
