yes it's true...my trainer is trying to kill me!

Recommended Posts

Today he came in all happy and full of life and energy and guess who he took that out on. After several threats of slow painful torture, followed by a slow painful death he started to work with me. Through out the entire hour my legs, arms, butt and thighs were sore and throbbing. Of course it was due to the new and improved and harder then ever exercises....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Squats, curls, leg lifts, a lot of work on my arms. My heart was beating so fast I thought....He took the number and said aw that's nothing....What!!!!!!!!!!

At the end of the session I had the nerve to tell him i felt like I could take on the world I felt so good!!!

He laughed!!!!!!!!!!!! I frowned!

I think I may be nuts to do this to myself! ;)

:) Not nuts!!! Kudos for keeping it up! I am still not comfortable getting down on the floor. One of these days i will get over that fear. Fear of not being able to get back up, let alone doing exercises with a trainer and then trying to "gracefully" pull myself off the floor!

I have a trainer, too. 2 xs per week. I dread the sessions because I know how sore I will be for the next day or 2 after, but I also know it is good for me. Hang in there!!

RJ - you are mightily blessed! Alive and well, and able to do all that your trainer is asking you to do. It's so good to hear how you are improving every day. Well done.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
