LLSibley 1 Posted April 1, 2007 I was banded 3/19 and although I haven't weighed since I had great news this morning that I had to share. I have this pair of black pants (because they make you look slimmer, lol) that I have worn as my only pair to look nice in. When I bought them they fit perfect. Just 2 weeks ago I could still force them on and use a button extender to button them and then zip them as far as I could. I'd add a long blouse so no one knew. I put them on to go to church, no button extender, zipper all the way up and both buttons on the waist band are buttoned and they are not cutting into my waist. Numbers are everything (although I do wonder how much I've lost) but the way your clothes fit will tell a lot. I'm so excited.
Iluvharleys 15 Posted April 1, 2007 Congrats! Don't you just love those kind of NSV's?:clap2: :clap2:
juliegeraci 7 Posted April 1, 2007 LLSibley, that is what we call a NSV, non scale victory! Way to go!
LLSibley 1 Posted April 1, 2007 Now for a scale victory, I went to my daughter's to weigh after church and of course she has just one of those cheap scales but she says it weighed 2 pounds light from the last time she was at the doctor. According to her scales I've lost around 15-17 pounds. Wow, am I excited. Next time maybe I'll be below 200 for the first time in I don't know how long. purplemonkey 1 Posted April 3, 2007 That is so awesome LLSibley! I was also banded on 3/19 and have no clue how much I've lost. My clothes were normally baggy and stretchy so I'm really not sure. I did notice that my 8inch Bracelet that I wear all the time is much looser on me...so I tried my rings on thinking they'd be loose, but they weren't. Go figure. I go for my post-op DR visit on Thursday April 5th and dying to know how much I've lost. Just purchased a scale through QVC so that I can at least keep track of my weight once a week. Congrats Congrats Congrats!!! Virginia
LLSibley 1 Posted April 3, 2007 I also need to buy a scales so I can weigh on the same one every week. Even if they don't weigh with the doctors scales they will be consistant with itself. My plans were to try to get to the clinic at least once a week to weigh but I have an in home day care and can't seem to get rid of my kids in the evenings before the clinic closes. Good luck on your post visit. I know you'll find you've lost a bunch too. I'm looking forward to seeing someone I don't see very often and have them notice a weight difference. This is all so exciting.
edieparks 2 Posted April 3, 2007 You were actually able to "wear" those pants. Been there and done that. I always thought in the back of my mind I could be setting myself up for a embarrassing moment. Not so for you anymore. Best wishes . Your band sister, edie
Stephanee 0 Posted April 3, 2007 Congrats and keep up the good work! For me, it is really nice to be able to go into a store, grab a pair of pants, and not have to silently yell in anger in the fitting room! The other day, my sister had me try on a skinny sized 14 capris. I thought she was being cruel but when they actually fit without an army helping me put them on, I was beaming the whole day! LLSibley 1 Posted April 3, 2007 I won't have to buy anything for awhile because I have bags of clothes all the way down to a size 12 that I can grow into. Then I will be able to raid my daughter's closet because she has more clothes than she will ever wear. I really don't want to buy something I won't wear very long . I'd prefer waiting until I reach goal to get new clothes. There's always second hand stores that have lots of nice things if you will just look.
Stephanee 0 Posted April 3, 2007 lol...well, when I said "grab", I didnt say "buy"! I love to take out time once a week or so to try on new clothes, just to see where I am at! I always try on the same pair (same brand, same size, same style) first and then if I notice a difference, I try something new and smaller. Heck, with 5 kiddos at home and a business to run, I dont have time for any other type of entertainment or joy!
ReneBean 3 Posted April 3, 2007 Congrats & keep up the great work! I love that I can wear so many more of my old clothes, now. I actually went through and purged out the old 5x sizes last week... The Leukemia Society loves me, these days. :]
