BraveStar 4 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) Hey everyone! I just want to send a friendly reminder to everyone that after your surgery remember to walk! I was banded two weeks ago and had a bad experience from the surgery. I spent one night in the hospital under nurses care and ended up with a blood clot in my leg. The nurses never got me up for a walk that night, and the first nurse I had never turned on the booties that go around your legs to circulate your blood. I believe this is why the clot formed. Since I have some medical background I knew going into surgery that I needed to walk afterwards but I was on some strong pain meds and I forgot all about it. Tell whoever is with you post op that you must walk, just in case. I don't want anyone to experience what I've been through with this blood clot. JustWatchMe 7,117 Posted March 7, 2014 Thanks for the tip. I'm supposed to be outpatient, in by six am and out by mid afternoon, but you never know. And I will definitely walk the next few days after surgery before I go back to my desk job. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
