My goal I think is gonna be 12 lbs. I didnt lose any in March at ALL until the last 3 days than I lost 4 lbs! Probably b/c I didnt eat b/c of stress, I am eating again and hoping I dont gain the 4 lbs back! I would like to be at 190 by the end of the April. I also havent been exercising since my daughters accident. I missed about 4 days being out of town but I was walking alot then, came back exercised one day then my daughters accident and I havent been back. I am staying at my moms this week for a few days so I cant go to my gym, but she goes to Curves and I may try there. I dont really want to leave my daughter though,

Im around but I couldnt find this thread. Dh is coming home tomorrow and hopefully I can get back on track I think I am going in for another fill soon too. I am starting to be able to eat more. I need to do my measurements again. Has anyone here measured or are we all going by weight?? But all in all I feel really good I cant believe what a difference 28-30 lbs makes as far as how I feel!

I have been looking for this thread. I haven't lost anything since the first month. But I have my 2nd fill on Monday and I have high hopes that I will start to lose again. This is frustrating!

Can anyone who has had more than one fill tell me if they started losing after the second fill? I am so afraid that I will be like some of the bandsters that I have read about saying in a year they only lost 20 lbs. The first fill did absolutely nothing. I have to watch every bite or I would have gained the weight that I lost after being on the liquid diet, post surgery.

Denise, it gets WAY WAY WAY easier with more fills! Don't be shy, get another! You shouldn't do this on willpower - if you could do it on willpower alone, you wouldn't have gotten surgery!!! I've had 4 fills and one slight unfill, and am going in Monday for another fill.

I can't believe you were banded 2 weeks before me and have lost 62 lbs. I really want that fill. Can you tell me if you have any problems with food sticking, or not being able to eat certain things now that you are filled more. I hate it so much when food gets stuck, but I really want to lose weight. It scares me because if food gets stuck with barely anything in there, I am afraid I will start pbing. I haven't done that yet.

Right now NOTHING gets stuck - but I don't eat bread, Pasta, rice or potatoes. I haven't PB'd even once yet. I semi-slimed once right before I got my unfill when I took WAY too big of a bite of a carrot. Even when I was a touch overfull I really only got the "golf ball" feeling in my chest when I didn't chew enough or took too big of a bite. :)

I don't eat rice or potatoes, bread, etc either. It's meat that gets stuck. I think it's because I take too big of a bite too. I have always eaten too fast. It's really hard for me to remember to slow down. It is that golf ball feeling when something is stuck. I hate it. I remember to slow down immediately if that happens! It's hard to remember to chew until it's liquid too.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
