fatty2hottie 57 Posted March 5, 2014 I had surgery Feb 21 and the swelling in my abdomen has finally gone down enough for me to feel my port. It actually freaked me out because I found it by accident and when I touched it, it hurt like heLL. What has been your experience with your port site? Rojasanoll 920 Posted March 5, 2014 Mine never hurt, but I could feel a small bump under the skin line. It's never bothered me the last 2 years. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
jamilyne 102668 1,207 Posted March 5, 2014 I found my port for the first time when I reached inside the washing machine and I hit it - I thought I was gonna die! I was about 3 weeks out from surgery. As you lose weight you will notice it more. 2 enjoythetime and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Bandista 7,466 Posted March 5, 2014 I don't notice mine much -- no tenderness. Just after surgery, however, it was the largest incision and sore. I used an ice pack once or twice and that seemed to do the trick. Good luck as you continue to heal up! 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
SillyAuntDi 1,610 Posted March 5, 2014 My cat found mine first. She's a snuggler that likes to knead on my belly (make paws, make biscuits, mush...whatever you call it). I made her avoid my belly area for the first few weeks after surgery...for obvious reasons...and the first time I allowed her to settle in she found it. She started her process, stopped, looked at me with the strangest expression on her little kitty face, and then proceeded to do her thing. She still does it 5.5 months later. Each time she finds it she still acts surprised. 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and fghtffyrdmns reacted to this

I sleep with a pillow on my stomach because my two cats like to sleep there, and jump there too, so I need the extra cushion for now. 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and SillyAuntDi reacted to this
gowalking 10,790 Posted March 5, 2014 I noticed my port right away. It never hurt but I am absolutley aware of it. These days, I not only can feel it, but see it as well. I mean I see the bump since my upper tummy area is much smaller than it used to be. Once in a while when I move or bend a certain way, it is uncomfortable but once I get out of that position, I'm fine. 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and enjoythetime reacted to this
