How much time will i need off work?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

It looks like i'm getting banded on March 25th - much quicker than I'd really realised it would happen!

I'm looking at my annual leave sheet and panicking a bit - my shifts mean that if I take 8 days off I'll get 16 days recovery, and if I take 4 days off I'll get 8 days recovery! My job is mostly sedentary with the odd bout of being in a car or climbing stairs, although I do need to drive to work.

I'd prefer to lose as little annual leave as possible - will I need the full 16 days to recover or will I manage on just 8?

For info, I'm mid 20s, around 220lbs with no conditions if that gives a better picture.

Ps - I can't wait to share this amazing journey with you all!

Hi!

I was banded 3 weeks and 2 days ago. I went back to work the following Monday. You do not want to be on pain meds and keep track when you are at work...listen to your body/ doctor.

Wishing you much success in your journey:) keep us posted

I was told to plan on a week, but could go back after a few days if I'm of the pain meds. I plan on trying to get up and walk around as soon after surgery as I can to try to avoid some of the gas pain.

I was banded on a Friday and went back to school on Monday, but it was hard. Sitting in a desk chair was not comfortable. I wanted to sleep. I would recommend taking as much time as you think you need, one day at a time. Everyone is different though. Good luck!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
