For me I had major mobility problems due to weight back hip and knee problems so other than wandering around in hospital out of boredom and sitting down every couple of mins I didn’t do very much.
Due to other issues I was dealing with and treatments after the op I wasn’t cleared to actually exercise other than walking up and down my own stairs till about 8 months out.
I don’t know if it will cause you more pain but I do know your cast is off that’s better than it being on and means you’re on the road to recovery for being on the move.

Hi Kelly

Everyone has a different experience , but here is mine. I was sleeved 14 days ago. For the first 2 .5 days, I was nauseated and could not hold down Water without gagging. It was difficult b walk because of the nausea, but had to because of the gas build up. The next challenge I've been dealing with is the lack of energy. I'm told that the energy will come back one I start eating. I'm getting around fine, but I miss feeling like myself.

Your height and weigh are similar as my husband. You did not list your age, but my husband is 66 and cannot exercise because of neurological back and leg weakness. He is down 50 lbs since Dec. 2. We do have a pool now so we will begin exercise soon. We have not been nauseated ever, we eat without a problem, just slow, and drink lots of fluids. Until your leg heals completely you can rest and eat right and you will still lose weight. We are living proof. I was one night in the hospital and only 1 dose of pain meds at home, up and shopping within 3 days. I have more energy than 10 years ago. Thankful for the sleeve. Best of luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
