OK, I am 4 days post op..last night was my 1st night home from the hospital and I had some CRAZY dreams to say the least. I dreamed that I was home with all supports in place and once everyone left out of the door BAM, I ran into the kitchen and ate a whole stash of rice pilaf mixed with tomatoes and onions(this isn't even something that I would normally eat) I was soo convinced that I had sabotaged my sleeve, that I woke up in tears and anxiety. This is when I learned that it was a dream!. after calming down and talking with my hubby, I went back to sleep and continued similar dreams all night. Is it just me or has someone else experienced similar dreams?

That would be the anesthetic and other drugs exiting your system, mixed with your baseline fears taking over in your subconscious.

I found my freaky post-op dreams quite entertaining. In fact, for a couple of them and once awake, I tried to return to sleep to get back into them.

People pay serious money for those kind of whacky moments!

I think I was a female version of Lawrence of Arabia in one of them! :D

I have!!!! But I am not even sleeved yet, as my date is getting closer and closer I am more and more nervous. So I had this dream the other night that I had my surgery and right after that I started to sip on DietCoke and it went down so well and I had some fatty cheese and I was surprised in my dream that it did not hurt much just a little. I woke up in sheer horror! It was horrible...

Sounds just like nicotine dreams after you quit tobacco. After I quit chewing and smoking several years ago, I did occasionally have dreams where I dipped tobacco or was smoked and just felt awful about it the next morning.

I still have these dreams of eating things I should not or bingeing. I wake up and am so relieved, that if was just a dream. It must be my subconscious of fears. I thought I was the on,y one having these dreams.. I am 11 weeks post op and had one this weekend.

Oh geez, I already dream about food, and my surgery date isn't set yet! I had one the other night, but I had fallen pursue hard off the Wagon of my pre- pre-op diet! I have been trying to lose a few to show the Doc that I am indeed in the right frame of mind, well one telecom that went to 8 pm and driving home starving, well I stopped and fell victim to my vices diet coke and a cheeseburger. That night I dreamt all night about eating bad for you foods and felt just awful in the morning. .. And this is before the sleeve! Hold on to your butts! This is going to get interesting!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
