DaddyMarie 291 Posted March 3, 2014 K so have a hiatal hernia. Well last night I felt like someone kicked me in the ribs and I had the worst case of heartburn I have ever had in my life. The burning feeling was radiating through my chest and down into my gut and around to my upper mid back... I also feel really tired and bloated and nauseous. Anyone else have a hernia? (I know many of you have) an what were your symptoms? How did you get relief? Anyone have their surgery date moved up due to hernia problems? I have already called my surgeon an gastro doc... Unbesleeveable 110 Posted March 3, 2014 unfortunately I had my gallbladder removed 4/12/13 only to discover 2 wks later that I had GERD and a hiatal hernia. THE PAIN IS ALMOST UNBAREABLE!! I did not have to have my surgery date moved up, rather than it was the incentive to have surgery for me. I literally had to cut out most foods in order to get a handle on things. no acidic foods, drinks, nothing spicy, no cabbage, greens, onions, tomatoes, carbonated drinks, ice creams...everything was disruptive. I found that once I cut these things out, the symptoms did not permanently dissipate , but I was able to live with them until my surgery. Only being 4 days out from surgery, I had my hernia repaired along with the sleeve. praying that things will be better for me now. Best wishes to you also
