butterflieshell 2 Posted March 2, 2014 Does anyone know if you can drink Ensure as a Protein Drink?
2biglamb 65 Posted March 2, 2014 Yes you can if you get the high Protein ones. Make sure the sugar is low. Boost has a diabetic one that is safe as well. 1 butterflieshell reacted to this
Revision12714 10 Posted March 2, 2014 My surgeon says no....too many carbs and not enough Protein. But every program is different....premier Protein Shakes are a good choice, and available at Walmart, SAMs and Costco... 2 1Day1Life4Now and Texasmeg reacted to this
BandedBrunette481 310 Posted March 2, 2014 My surgeon's office wanted me to drink Bariatric Advantage shakes but my stomach couldn't tolerate them so I switched to Premier Protein shakes. They taste pretty good I think as long as the shakes you choose are low sugar, low carb, low fat, and high Protein, you're ok since those are the things you're supposed to cut out for the pre-op diet phase. Texasmeg 568 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) My NUT also said Ensure supements were too high in carbs and low in Protein. I like Premier and also Muscle Milk Light. Edited March 2, 2014 by Texasmeg 1 pquinn181 reacted to this

I had the same problem with Bariatric Advantage and switched to Premier Protein as well. I recommend trying out a variety of different options before you truly have to be on them 100%. - K 1 BandedBrunette481 reacted to this
cheryl2586 3,053 Posted March 3, 2014 The only problem with ensure is that it is made to help people maintain or gain weight that can not. I would go with EAS or whey Protein with less carbs and very little sugar. To me its not a good choice for Protein. There are many other Protein drinks out there that are better for weight loss. CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted March 3, 2014 I use Premier Protein (chocolate and strawberry but not fond of the vanilla) but for a "powder" I think that Syntrax nectar is a good choice. Uber low carb, low calorie and lots of flavors. i like vanilla bean the best.
rubyred138 17 Posted March 26, 2014 I had tried some sample packets of Syntrax vanilla so i bought the big tub afterwards and now that I'm drinking it everyday it gives me a headache. now I'm stuck with 3 lbs of it
