I'M going back to work later this week and am worried about the comfort of clothes and sitting up all day in them

I'm mostly concerned about the waistline of my pants pushing up an on some of the incision sites

It was uncomfortable for 3-4 days with pants at my navel incision, but I just folded the pants down under a long shirt when I was sitting. Maybe you can manage this if you will be sitting. Unless you wear dresses, which I do not. Good luck! The soreness will not last long.

Does any body need some size 12P pants or a couple of suits? I have some to give away for postage. Email me at joy.raley@gmail.com.

I guess I am lucky in the pants department. :) I have been wearing sweatpants to work since I went back to work on Jan.19th. My steri strips are finally starting to fall off. Since I leave for work about 4:40am to go dispatch school buses, it's darned cold here still. Until I feel comfortable in jeans again, I will wear my sweats. My boss hasn't said a word about it. :)

If any pants felt tight or were rubbing against the incisions, I padded the incisions with loose gauze taped lightly with papertape. I also would unbutton my pants and make sure my shirt or sweater were well over the pants waistline. I sit in an office chair all day at work, so I only had to remember when I got up to do something. It does feel weird the first few days and you will be extra cautious. It's a good thing! Good luck going back to work! Remember to take your time as it's a big adjustment getting back into a routine!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
