I just read about the meaning of Onederland and I have been in this place for a while, so HAPPY. I'm,186 this morning so I have lost 29 pounds since surgery December 17. I think that is slow compared to some of the post I've read on here but I'm happy to be losing. I didn't measure myself before this journey started but I know I have last tons of inches because none of my clothes fit...YAY!!! Thank God for this surgery.

lost 29 pounds- surgery December 17. slow compared to others?????

lady

WooHoo on becoming one of the latest and greatest new members of "onederland" :)

never, ever, never compare your weight loss/time period to anyone elses in sleeveland

people have been shot for less

the expression on the board is..............

"the one thing we have in common is that we're all different"

the "average"/good amount of weight loss in a month (per Nielson's poll)

is 10lbs

dropping 29 lbs in 6 weeks in NOT slow :)

terrific, terrific

trust me!!!!!

would i lie to you ;)

its great to see that you are losing inches by the way your clothes feel/fit :)

but....you might want to measure yourself today, and again in 2-3 weeks etc

keep records of those inches all over

these #s are especially nice to see when you might not have lost any weight in a while/stalled - but your inches are dropping

you are doing great :)

keep up the good work for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life :)

kathy

congrats

Congrats, stay focus, walk, walk, walk and sip your Water. GasX strips worked good for me, ice pops were good too and a heating pad for my stomach was great.

That first week was so hard for me, but everyone is different so I hope this will be a breeze for you.

Wish you so much success with your new life.

Congrats. Big accomplishment! It took me awhile also to figure onederland but kudos to whoever came up with it. I can not wait to be a member of that special group.

What is Onederland?

It is when you have come out of the 200, 300 and you are finally in the 100...it could be 199, it's still onederland...Yay

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
