katt1584 46 Posted March 2, 2014 So I have transitioned to soft foods and have been full since morning on about 2 OZ of scrambled eggs. I did bring myself to eat so I could get closer to my Protein goal... but I think I ate the wrong thing. I first tried some ground turkey meat seasoned like tacos will a little bit of cheese, but the meat so was so dry and was hard to swallow. So I had some chili that the rest of the family had the in the crockpot all day. It was really wet and mostly ground beef-it went down great. NOW my stomach is doing all sorts of things...I have sharp pains and I'm fighting back heartburn. The pain almost feels like incision pain, the sharp pain you get when you bend down. Is this familiar to anyone? This is my second day having soft food so I'm not shocked I made a bad choice. I think the meat was fine it was just too spicy!! Branmuffin 190 Posted March 2, 2014 Sounds like how I felt when I ate too much too fast early on. Be careful adding new food into your diet so quickly. 1 kltklass reacted to this
Carlotta1 401 Posted March 2, 2014 Soft foods..ground turkey f is probably too hard on your stomach at this point. the seasoning may also be too harsh also. 1 kltklass reacted to this
kltklass 144 Posted March 2, 2014 Greek yogurt and cottage cheese are great for Protein. I still can't eat eggs or spicy foods, they do not set well with me. Take your time when eating, it really makes a difference.
Carlotta1 401 Posted March 2, 2014 U r right kitklass Greek yogurt and cottage are great Protein sources. For Snacks I eat mozzarella cheese sticks by weight watchers. It goes down good and I enjoy the taste. I am almost 11 weeks out and these foods are def main staples of my diet. 1 kltklass reacted to this
katt1584 46 Posted March 2, 2014 Yikes! I'll have to really readjust. My NUT gave me a list of approved meal and ground turkey was on it was ground beef was not just yet. thanks for the advice guys. Is this burning stomach pain pretty common after a mess-up like this?
kltklass 144 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) It can be. Try taking an over the counter PPI like omeprazole (prevacid) for heartburn (Walgreens or Costco). It helps me a lot. Try waiting a bit before adding ground turkey or beef. Edited March 2, 2014 by kltklass
