jlong007 6 Posted March 2, 2014 Hello all, I am 1 month out of my surgery and we are at a party, everyone is having a great time, eating drinking, dancing and I'm here stuck in a corner because I can't really enjoy. This really sucks! Just wanted to put that out there
sassypants 674 Posted March 2, 2014 You can enjoy it so hey you can’t drink or eat you can still enjoy the company the atmosphere and dance. Plenty of times I have gone to a family event with a Protein Shake in my bag and sipped on that. Ok so 1 month out is still the ugh crappy stage but it should stop you enjoying the people and the event or having fun. Think about it how many times in your life have you been to a event/party and the food was crap yet you still had a good time? That’s all this is crappy food you don’t want anyway but still a good time! 1 kltklass reacted to this
BladeFox 235 Posted March 2, 2014 I am not going anywhere until I know how to eat out without being so different.
Sherry S 103 Posted March 2, 2014 No one can make you have a good time. You feel the way you think about it. Be grateful you were able to have the surgery and how healthy and great you are going to be soon. Stop whining, get out of the corner and go mingle and enjoy. 4 kltklass, JeanZ_RN, schoen2014 and 1 other reacted to this
NICU-RN 31 Posted March 2, 2014 I am just 7 weeks out and I remember feeling so alone and depressed about all I could not eat at about 1 month out. As I was whining about the fact that my husband had lasagna ( my most favorite food in the world) on the way home from work, he said that I was the one that chose to have the surgery and he wasn't giving up everything because I was. That made me mad, but snapped me out of it also as I realized that this WAS a choice of mine and I needed to remember why I chose this route. Cut yourself some slack and realize it does get better and keep remembering WHY you chose to have the surgery. 3 vdub_tx, AshleyMidwife and melissa031014 reacted to this
