Flutterfly19 15 Posted March 1, 2014 I'm not a big drinker, never really have been. With that said, I DO like to go to happy hour here and there and I do like to be able to enjoy having drinks with friends occasionally. I had a friend who had the gastric BYPASS...and man, when she would drink, it would hit her like a freight train. She would be wasted in NO time and it really became an issue. I am scared of that happening to me if I decide to be sleeved. What is it like...drinking after being sleeved? Does it hit you harder than before?
millergirl314 168 Posted March 1, 2014 Great question, I'm inly a week out so I wouldn't know yet but I am curious of the answers though. I was told the same thing about the alcohol hitting hard.
kltklass 144 Posted March 1, 2014 If you go to the search bar and type in "alcohol after the sleeve", and click the "down arrow" under topic and choose forum, a bunch of forums show up. Some of them are very informative. I hope this helps.

AprilC 0 Posted March 3, 2014 I had my sleeve mid January. I waited a month before having any alcohol and only had a glass of wine. At 6 weeks, I had a martini. I drank both the wine and martini slowly over an hour or so. I didn't notice any difference than before my surgery.
