lxpete80 11 Posted March 1, 2014 I'm 270 and having surgery this week (yeah!) I'm 33 and in good health so as soon as I'm cleared I want to start walking & doing my part. K so I know that it varies per person and what not, but I'm curious how much in average people lose the first month?
elfnow 277 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Are you counting the liver reduction diet? Including that part (for me 1000 cals/day for 2 weeks, mostly liquid) I lost ~45 lbs in the first month. (I started liver redux on 1/27, surgery 2/10). Now, I started out 375 lbs (100 higher than you) and a BMI of about 60. Percent-wise it was about 12% of my total body weight or about 25% of my excess weight. I lost 21 lbs with the liver redux over 14 days and 24 lbs from surgery over the next 16. kimmie2363 7 Posted March 1, 2014 Hello I won't hit a month unitl March 4, but on my three week follow-up I lost 25 lbs, I'm walking a bit more each and everyday, and I have incorporated yoga into my exercise routine. I don't keep a scale in my home, because If I look at it and I don't think I losing any weight then I probably will get very disappointed, that is what I would do beofe the surgery, I would diet and exercise and then weight myself and get disappointed. macman 603 Posted March 1, 2014 I lost 29 pounds the first 30 days from surgery. I asked the surgeon if that was normal and he indicated taht he usually sees 25-35 pounds the first month. 1 elfnow reacted to this
