smithpy 117 Posted March 3, 2014 I didn't do very well this weekend but I'm not bringing anymore junk in the house. Yes, that's one of my keys to success. I don't bring in what I can't control. I have a few food items that just scream my name if they are here. If I really want them I eat them while out. Or, I have it at hone when giving a party and send the leftovers home with someone. It's hard with kids. I'm trying to let them bring a few items that don't tempt me but also working to help them enjoy the healthy options. Stared at the Cheeze it's forever but finally walked away. Wanted Melba toast but not one worker at Walmart knew what that was.
erp 2,016 Posted March 3, 2014 I'm in. I'm up 3 lbs all from not following the rules. So now I'm 5 lbs from goal. WLS is such a head game! Learned I can put a serious hurt on a box of Cereal this week. Going to do lots of shakes, Protein, and veggies today, staying away from simple carbs (yeah, I'm talking about you, Cinnamon toast crunch). 3 Ms skinniness, mariamitani and smithpy reacted to this
kj44 215 Posted March 3, 2014 I haven't gained yet, but I can't seem to stop eating carbs! So I need to get back on track so I don't gain. I with you starting tomorrow. Same here! Been stalled for almost two months and I know it's the fracking carbs. I keep finding myself wanting any form of them Time to grab this bull by the horns and truly cut them out!!! Yikes! Lol. Wish me luck. Maybe I should look into the 5:2 plan also. Gonna check it out and see what it entails. We can do this!! 2 Success2013 and Ms skinniness reacted to this

Family members have their carb laden Snacks and meals. Tried to get all to eat healthy but ran into a brick wall with that.

I think it was a naturally thin child and teen because we never had junk in the house. We always had fruit. No sweets, chips or soda. I know now it's because my mom gains weight easily with that stuff around, but when I was little, that's just the way it was. We did eat junky food, but only while out or at a party. Escape_Pod 358 Posted March 3, 2014 I recommitted right before Christmas and have managed to stay on track since then with a whole bag-load of strategies. Every day requires focus and commitment, but the first week was the hardest! I'm off sugar, have been for over 10 weeks now, and plan to stay that way. Somewhere a corner of my brain isn't 100% on board with that though, I was cleaning out the pantry over the weekend and came across some of my favorite chocolate and couldn't bring myself to throw it out. Hmm..... At least I managed to put it back in the very back of the pantry. Sigh... I do have to watch carbs, but it's sugar that will put me right back into bingeing, night-time sneak eating, hiding-food mode. Scary how easily I slipped back into those hold habits, and how hard it was to drag myself out of them! Don't get me started on Cereal - my husband still eats it, and I was looking for his brand this weekend, but it appears to have been dropped by the local stores in favor of newer offerings. Would you believe Kellogg has signed a co-branding agreement with Rocky Mtn chocolate, and there's now a Rocky Mountain Chocolate chunks cereal? It was right next to the S'mores cereal. Seriously!?!?! 2 smithpy and Ms skinniness reacted to this

MichiganChic 3,262 Posted March 4, 2014 Every day is a conscious commitment for me, too. I wake up and focus on my current weight, eating strategy for the day, etc. It is a full time job for me. I know there are people who can succeed by "listening to their body" but I'm not one of them. It's work for me. I had a few extra calories over the weekend (like 1800 Saturday and 2000 Sunday) and I was up almost 4 pounds by Monday. Some of it was Water, but I know that if I kept it up, I'd be right back up to 300 pounds. So, I'm committing with you! It's so worth the effort! 3 Oliver's Mom, diedie and Ms skinniness reacted to this
GetInMyBelly 80 Posted March 4, 2014 Here we go! Day one approx 190lb. Goal is to get back to 150 for now... I will start with a Protein filled Breakfast and tons of Water today. I'm going to attempt to skip the coffee... For lunch at work i will have chicken breast. I have packed my gym bag for after work. I will hopefully start with the elliptical and finish with the bike for a goal of 40 minute workout. I will eat veggies for dinner. No snacking on carbs today at all-mini cucumbers!!! Wish me luck! There's no more excuses I will get back to what I was post surgery and stop this sabotage!!! ???????????? 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this

Seriously!?!?! Can you do artificial sweetener?
Escape_Pod 358 Posted March 4, 2014 Yes, for the most part I'm fine with artificial sweeteners, fortunately. I still have a sweet tooth, but as long as I'm sticking to artificial sweeteners, I seem to be able to enjoy things in moderation. I have a small-batch no-flour cookie recipe that makes about 6-8 Cookies, depending on add-ins, about 120 calories each, and I can make a batch and have it last 3 weeks or longer. Finding satisfying substitutes has been a key strategy for me to staying on track.

smithpy 117 Posted March 5, 2014 Was feeling a little down cause I've gained 12-15 lbs back of the 104.5 that I lost. I have really been working hard to get it off but floating around the same weight. Decided to take body measurements which I was scared to do! Wow. It's pretty good. 38-30-38. Baby! Not far from ideal. I can do this! So now I'm on the treadmill. I am good to go motivationally. 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this
Escape_Pod 358 Posted March 5, 2014 For the recipe, I should refer you to the source, so she gets the credit (and the site hits!) Just search Bing or Google for "just one" oatmeal cookie no flour and you'll find Linda Farnsworth's EatingWellLivingThin blog site. I usually triple her "just one" recipe, and add a bit more oatmeal (or sometimes some PB2 or pb Protein powder - otherwise the dough is a bit wet), chopped pecans and sugar free chocolate chips, and I usually use "whey Low Gold" (alternative brown sugar-like sweetener). With all the additions, I make 6-7 Cookies out of a "3 cookie" base recipe. With the additions I think they're every bit as good as a "real" chocolate chip cookie (if you like oatmeal in them). She has a "just one" Peanut Butter cookie recipe too. 3 erp, smithpy and Oliver's Mom reacted to this
