I am 1 year out and fell off the track I am terrified that I stretched my sleeve... Any advice? Need help. Cant seem to get back on track. Initially I lost 70lbs and now have re-gained 15lbs. Very very upset!!!!

Gaining back a bit is normal. I am 3 years out and am up 20 from my lowest weight. Back to basics: Protein first, good food, exercise, Water, limit snacking, concentrate on when you are full, don't eat in front of the TV. Good news is that your sleeve will still work for you. It hasn't stretched that much.

Super normal, don't freak out. This is where you need to find the balance of what you want to eat and what you want your weight. It helps to keep Protein with me at all times so I can make snacking decisions with a clear head.

Hey...I'm in the space coast area...had surgery 8 mos ago at Viera hospital by Dr. Tieu. He's amazing!!! Just wanted to say hi to any fellow Florida sleevers!

Hi Sassy,

I'm a post-sleever from Jacksonville, FL. I'm only 6 weeks out, but I've already lost 37 lbs. I was hoping to find others in the Jacksonville area to Celebrate and commiserate with...if anyone wants to chat, send me a friend request.

Hello Fellow Floridians! Tampa Bay area here (SW Ohio native), VSG surgery on 9/3/15. I had surgery in Boca Raton. Getting through the first couple days at home, mostly dealing with the swelling and pain mgmt. Tolerating the soft/mushy post-op diet my surgeon uses. Everything seems to be going well so far. I will be interested in a good in person support group in the area if anyone can share. I live in palm Harbor, work Downtown Tampa. I am also blogging to share more frequent updates, if anyone is interested. https://thedawningofanewday.wordpress.com/

Hello dragonfly78! I live in Orlando and I had my surgery in Viera Florida (near cocoa beach). I also had surgery on the 3rd. This gas pain is no joke. I feel like someone is standing on my chest. My post-op diet consists of Clear Liquids until Wednesday and then I will move on to full liquids. It is definitely weird how each surgeon is different when it comes to post op requirements. I can only take in 1 oz of liquids at a time. I hope it gets better. Thanks for sharing your blog, I enjoyed reading it????.

I had my surgery in MX but had complications and ended up in the ER in Viera (I live in Viera) and had an endoscopy with Dr. Teiu. I love him in fact I have an appt with him next week just to make sure I'm ok and to try and get rid of this H Pylori. I am 3 weeks out and have tons of questions for him like why can't I swallow and drink without pain and bubbles.

That was my Dr!! Love him!

Platues are just the body adjusting. This is not like running a marathon. It is more like interval training. Intense activity followed by periods of rest. Always keep in mind, proper eating, exercise, and Water will result in fat getting scarce. It will get the hint and leave, for sure. :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
