I had my surgery in August and have now lost close to 70 lbs. Lately, because of my depression I've been eating mostly Snacks in little portions but almost all day long. A couple of days ago I woke up to the feeling of my throat and esophagus swelled up and it felt like it did the first time time I had my surgery, burping hurt and hiccups caused me a lot of pain plus swallowing was very uncomfortable almost painful as well. The swelling has gone now but I'm really concerned and scared that I may have stretched my stomach :( I can't see my doctor either because I now have no insurance. Please help me out.

I don't think u have stretched your sleeve but I am not a doctor . If I were you an you are worried you should go to a clinic that aids in people with no insurance an mabey they will see the need to refer you to a bariatric specialist that takes people in your case. I am praying for you. Be strong .

Sounds like reflux. You might want to try a PPI.

Its actually a lot harder to stretch it than you think without the scare tactic put on your by the doctors they would tell you its very difficult to do and you have to abuse it over a extended period of time before you stretch it.
For example I was told how to stretch mine out by one of my surgeons because I have a small sleeve he said I would have to drink carbonated drinks all day every day for months and month to get some stretch out of it.
It sounds to me like you were sick as in a virus or something you wouldn’t feel swelling restriction and pain for sleeve stretching it’s a gradual thing not a overnight all of a sudden thing like you inflated a balloon with air.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
