So..when I have a BM it tends to be accompanied by a clear/ whitesuper slippery slime...I thought that was the slime I've seen referred to on post subjects..now that I've read one I know that's not the slime you all were referring to...I would like to think its melted fat making its way out?.. again..

Sorry..mortified...but..

Whatevv...lol

I've never heard of that. I'd call your surgeon.

Maybe it is a one time event? But if not, I agree, ask the doctor. Good luck, probably nothing but be cautious and ask!

Erm, this is quite common for those of us who suffer IBS.

Like a clear jelly type substance?

It is often associated with 'leaky gut' - although that's contested as leaky gut is an indicative sign of lots of nasty things like Chron's .

Normally it is in response to something that your system doesn't like very much or a change in bowel habits. Which, if you're getting a whole load of Protein in, maybe your bowel needs more lubricating?

How are you getting on with the milk in your Protein drinks or the Protein powders themselves?

It is totally normal ( cause I've had it for years) - but if your stomach gets incredibly sore, before or when you go to the loo, or the actual passing becomes really painful (outside of the associated Constipation that comes with this surgery) and worse still, there's blood - go get it checked out.

You really shouldn't become reliant on laxatives. Your guts become dependent on them for motility...

I would suggest you only use it if you really need it.

Try and cut it back a bit and see what happens with your movements.

However and as said before, you are eating a lot of Protein. Your diet and thus your bowel movements are bound to change. This might well be one of the side effects of that. I've had it for years and it doesn't cause me any major issues.

Again, if bothered by it, speak to your quack :D

I get it too. Fiber helps regulate me, so I always try to make sure I get in 10-15 grams a day.

I just learned from my nut I was not getting enough veggies. Instead I put my main focus on Protein. Thank God I am now regular.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
