Post Op Stall

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I need some advice. I am 8 months out and have hit a major stall. I am almost at my goal weight but im really struggling to lose these last few pounds. I see my trainer 3x a week. I eat my portion size that im suppose to be eating. I welcome any advise.

Thank you

Steph

Don't you hate those last few pounds? My understanding is that shaking it up can often yield results, sort of confusing your body and hitting a reset button. Some ideas to try:

  • Try 5:2 for a few weeks and see if the scale budges
  • Try eating a completely different meal plan, for example, if you eat mostly meats, try vegetarian or vegan for two weeks
  • Try 2 weeks of very, very low carbs, like 20g a day max
  • Talk to your trainer about incorporating some HIIT or interval training into your routine

The other thing that could be going on is your training. I started strength training in January. I've lost very little poundage in the last two months but have gone from size 14 to 10. I've gained muscle that has offset my fat loss, so I'm not seeing it on the scale. Have you measured.yourself?

Best of luck, let us know your progress.

Thank you!! What is the 5:2? I will have to try the different diet. My trainer has switched it up. We do cross fit 2x a week and then strength 1x a week. Ill try the low carb and maybe more the vegetarian route too. I will keep you posted!!

Get in all your Water and beef up your Protein intake. Stick with chicken fish and veggies. I worked for me and I still have four stalls in 11 months but I lost 187 pounds.
